Who’d o’ thought it, eh? I mean, back when we started, far back in the mists of ancient time when dinosaurs walked the Earth (probably) and you could get a bag of chips for less than an quid, I don’t know that anyone really thought a little mag like ours would last so long against the big boys of bike publishing. Yet all these years later, here we still are – still bringing you the best from the grass roots end of the custom bike building spectrum and still getting out there and covering the best biker events, be they parties, rock nights or rallies of any kind. I don’t know about you, but I’m very proud of that… and very glad too – I’ve been doing this for more than 20 years now and I’d hate to have to get a real job.

Anyway, so where do we go from here then? Well, we will endeavour to carry on the great Biker tradition of getting out there and digging out bikes and events that you perhaps wouldn’t see elsewhere, and we will carry on supporting the groups and events we’ve been working with over the last ten-plus years. We’ve got ourselves a good bunch of freelance snappers and scribblers who know what they’re doing and know what they’re talking about (and we’ve got me too), and 2012 looks like being a good year with the promise of some big, high profile events that are just what the UK custom bike scene needs, and some cracking bikes on the drawing boards we’ve heard of too. Personally, it should be the year I start my eons-old plan of building a real and road-going version of Jack Shit’s Katana and I can’t wait, but of course, that’s reliant on me getting the money together for a new big front wheel on my trike first… and the Changeling needs a new tank… and the Future Bike needs new exhausts and … you know how it is, too many ideas, too little dosh to sort them.

So anyway, here’s to 2012, and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you too! See you all next year!
