Well that’s 2013 over and done with then… we hope you all had a happy Christmas and New Year—that is an odd thing to write given that it’s mid-December as I type, but the sentiment still stands…

To kick off the new year we have exciting news! We have a new editor starting at 100% Biker who goes by the name of… fanfares and jubilation… Blue Miller. She will be starting in earnest in the next issue or so. Blue, whom many (if not all) of you will know, has helped edit BSH for the last 14 or so years. We are delighted (and somewhat in awe) that she will be at the helm of the 100% Biker ship, steering it through both calm and stormy waters to become the UK’s best selling custom bike magazine—and you can bet that she’s already hoisted the anchor and is ready to do just that.

We’d like to take the opportunity to say thanks to Nik Samson for everything he did over the course of his seven year reign in charge of 100% Biker. Now it’s time for Blue to put all her experience and individual style to good use in pushing the magazine forward. We’re excited, and so should you be.

But for now it’s business as usual in the magazine, as we continue to bring you the best custom bikes out there as well as a roundup of some great events.

This issue we’ve some great bikes for you, including the Harley-Davidson FXS Softail Blackline 120RR that’s had the custom treatment by the award-winning Shaw Speed & Custom team; a beautifully old school custom Triumph Bonneville with some outrageously long forks; an AMW-HD chopper with a parts catalogue that reads like a veritable wishlist; a RevTech chop sporting some more skullduggery from the boys over at B&H; a pair of bikes owned by father and son—one a Virago 535 and the other a Kinroad XT50 King—that prove biking’s in the blood.

On our travels we take a trip over to the Emerald Isle to check out the second year of the Waterford Bike Fest—and look back forlornly at the amazing summer weather we had. Then we drop in on the Highway Hunters MCC 11th Summer Party, before partying up a storm at Stormin’ the Castle in Durham.

On top of all that we have all the latest news, products to keep you toasty now that winter’s set in, as well as the latest from MAG and musings from the legendary Rick Hulse.

A final note, check out our newly designed and limited edition 100% Biker T-shirt that you’ll get if you subscribe to the magazine in the New Year—it’s great. Make sure to get in early so you don’t miss out.

That’s all from me then… enjoy.
