Default Biker Friendly Campsites

Know any campsites that welcome bikers? Post your recommendations here please.

Here's a great place I enjoy staying at in Jocklandshire.

http://www.cruachanfarm.co.uk/

Great facilities and a restaurant serving great food at a reasonable price.

We took this place over one weekend - They loved us, just a kick in the arse from the Green Welly, as featured in this months 100%.

We are planning a wild camping trip for a week, later in the year, I will let you know how we get on.

This place is popular with bikers, a group of us used it last year and the Triumph America forum use it for their annual rally

http://www.highlaning.com/index.htm

The bit we camped on had that plastic reinforcing under the grass so your bike didnt sink, and the village has a pub with its own micro brewery

We've just got back from this place in Northern France, only about an hour south of calais:

www.lesballastieres.com

Nice B&B if you are with yer bird, or a cheap bunkhouse if you are with the lads.

The owners sue & Paul are bikers, HDRCGB members and could not be more helpful or hospitable.
A member of our group had his wheel bearing collapse a few miles from the digs and Paul got the bike straight into his workshop, and with a trip to the local dealer for a bearing, he was back on the road the next morning.

Only had a few beers in the town on the Friday night but the locals seem nice and friendly.
There is a BBQ and games room with pool table, darts etc if you want to stay in.

Highly recommended!

just down the road from me, not a bad little pub and they dont mind bikers

only two little probs

1) its right in a horrible unjustified 30mph limit and local plod are absolute c u next tuesdays for camping in a couple of little pull-ins there abouts........they are actually issuing asbo's for speeders in this lil stretch of road!

2)the pub is constantly changing hands, you never know when its gona be open or shut down! gone through about 6 sets of hands in the last 18months and in that time probably only bin open 8 months of it!!(think its settled down now, will see what the winter months bring)

amazing area of cornwall though, plenty of other biker friendly sites, the cornish are very tolerent people and love almost everyone, have to be considering our whole industry is based on tourism! (not saying you dont get folk that are tossers though)

some really nice roads out that way too, twisties galore, and some nice scenic routes such as the road between the fountain inn and St. Ives along the coastroad, 15miles of bliss!

hoping west cornwall lol

notbeing biased but its a nicer area, north cornwall is a bit spoilt by china clay mining, whole landscape is littered with slag heaps....bit of an industrial feel.

west cornwall is more natural and the beaches are lush

i hope for your sake the weather is better than the shite we got atm for wednesday, we had three weeks of solid sun and now had rain for a week

very badtimes

www.parkfarmcamping.co.uk

A nice site, campfires allowed and wood is on sale every night. Music up till midnight and groups are welcome.
Toilets, showers and you can take as much beer as you can carry.

Near Stonehenge:
http://www.stonehengetouringpark.com/

nice little site, usually a few bikes around. Had a Matchless rally there, owners could not do enough. At least two pubs in staggering distance. Some good riding roads around Salisbury plain.

I've been to a number on this site and can recommend them - apart from Camping Moto Touche which has turned into a pile of crap.

Just setting this up at the moment

http://www.bikerplaces.co.uk/

Its a Trip Advisor style site where you can add places, rate and comment on them. Please feel free to list anywhere you recommend or comment on the places already on there. Still in the early stages yet so not a lot on there but with eveyones help I am hoping to build up a large database of places recommeded by bikers.

There is also an event listing for rallies etc.
