It's all too scary, I think I'll have a flake and a lie down it's all a bit too much....

But seriously we've had a light dusting here in the middle lands. How about where you are?

Got about 4" at home, mebbe 3" at work. Roads are all good today but once it all freezes (-8 tonight) and the next expected downpour happens it might get interesting.

barely a light dusting here in Northampton.....

The whole country can be under a foot of snow and we would be lucky to get half an inch.......

Here in Bostongrad it seems to be patchy, some places have more than others! But The Missus' Sainsburys delivery got through so that's all ok with the world!

We had a very light dusting overnight which was gone by lunchtime. This afternoon we had a minor snow drop giving between 1 and 2 inches. All the roads are clear.
Very quiet in town when I went out at 2pm.

We seemed to have survived the night...no more snow and the road which had a light dusting last night seems to have cleared with the light traffic! Bloody cold though....

Well the roads are nice and clear here, don't know why the reast of Lincolngrad should be so bad! Well, as long as I can get to tescos and Dominos can get delivered there will be no problem!......

Had no more snow overnight. There is 2" to 3" of dry snow over most of the ground. But there are patches of tarmac where the snow has been blown away. It's been fairly windy the last 2 days.

The gas boiler repair man came out again yesterday because the boiler condensate pipe is external and uninsulated and became blocked with frozen water.
It took a long time to unblock the pipe using loads of hot water from the kitchen tap. In the end he had to cut the pipe and put a temporary repair on it after de-icing.
So a third visit will be necessary. The company he works for are overloaded with people having no heating or hot water. He had a block of maisonettes to go to after ours where the water supply pipe had frozen in the ground.

When the plumber fitted our boiler he put a pump under it that pumped the condensate up into the roof space and out into the guttering where it trickled down into the soak away.

First winter it froze the pump was straining against the blockage spraying the slightly acidic water all over the clean clothes in the airing cupboard.

So I re-routed the condensate pipe into the soil stack which is inside the house.

I still have 40 feet of pipe left over but sold the pump on Ebay.

I decided to sweep the snow of the car yesterday afternoon with a soft broom and a hand brush. By which time I was feeling the cold a bit. It was -3 at best here, with the wind chill it was about -15.
Although there was a very slight thaw today I still got another 2" to 3" of snow on the car last night.
Tomorrow I hope to see more of it thawing.

Well check out Mr Smarty-pants here, light dusting tuesday.

Got sent home Wednesday shortly after my last post, then woke up Thursday with a 2' blanket and trapped in the house until yesterday. Garden still under a good 18" Took two days to dig the car & bike a path out!

Mebbe had eight inches at home over the last few days but once you got outside the village where the snow could blow across the fields was a different kettle of fish. My daughter's school is at the end of this road

All melting here now. Drove through a river on the way to work, mebbe 6-8" deep and pretty fast flowing. That was the non-flooded route

Saw a young lad on a 125 going in the opposite direction, and he'd obviously grown tired of the constant bow wave cascading off his shins, cos just after he passed me he jumped up, knelt on his seat and carried on up the stream/road. Not sure if that was dead clever or plain mental when you think of all the potholes in the road he'll not be able to see. Hope the young bugger made it safely.
