Default Ah! There you are..

Digging through some old papers and documents, found my new driving licence they gave me when I passed my car test, with my bike group D from 1964 added. All I've got to do now is find a garage still flogging petrol for 39p a gallon...

several? Love it.

My test was about 20 minutes max, ride round the block (giving hand signals naturally) Examiner dashed from one street, through the test centre office block and watched as you came down the street on the other side of the building. Couple of circuits and he was knackered, so stop...answer 3 questions...passed..

That type of test was still going strong in '78 when I passed mine. The day I took mine it was pissing down. I reckon my examiner went back for a cuppa then came back out again as I only saw him once and that was for the emergency stop. Again, like you, I answered three or four questions, and got my pass certificate. I was more vervous riding off without my L plates than when taking the test!!
