How do you copy that to a tank? Do you trace it somehow? Free Hand? Or have you got some sort of scanner that can transfer the image? I'm intrigued....

Pretty sure that are done by water slide transfer, you can print any image you like on the appropriate paper and just soak in water and slide onto the tank or whatever, and one dry and prepped you just cover with enough coats of a compatible clear lacquer, you can also add tints and air brush bit to highlight etc.

Was going to give it a go on my tank but decided on the old school fish scale look instead.

Nice! did mine with three colours, but one of the acrylics doesn't get on with the others so now after a year and some heat its cracked....but hey it gives it the retro look.

Mine is just a rattle can and mask job, don't know a decent/cheap paint factor up here since i moved, otherwise it would have been 2K, but i think i may have to re do it.
