Default Pensions

As we are such a bunch of old crocks on here, you may find this interesting.

In three years I become elligable for me state pension. But it will be under the new rules. This is not as good as the old pension.

One the lovely Lois will not inherit any of my pension when I kick the bucket, and as I'm ten years older than her she is likely to out live me.

Two you need ten qualifying years to get any pension and 35 years for the maximum. I have 46 years but don't get the maximum because I was contracted out.

Three I still pay 90 per month national insurance despite the fact it no longer goes towards my pension.

Hi harry, some very good points coming up there and I am thinking about my future with regards to pension and housing.
It looks a bit bleak atm.
In theory I am 9 years or there abouts from state retirement age 66.
But the b****rds keep putting up the number of qualifiying years and putting up the retirement age.

Interesting that, I thought the same, but I've just swapped pension provider and my financial adviser reckons (via some gobbledegook financial bollocks I can't recall now) that because the government advised every bugger to contract out at the time, that the years contracted out still count

Bloody hope he's right or I'm gonna be one skint decrepit owld bugger.

But as you are now older it pays for the extra visits to the doctor/hospital....

The new system only allows 130/week if I remember right and no cost of living rises., which is 50 less than I get. I also opted out but it made about 3.00 difference to my pension, fortunately I belonged to various company pensions and had a self-employed pension when I had my own business. I am probably getting 3/4 of what I earned when working but have no mortgage to pay so I am a little better off, though that may not last much longer.....

I told you that your best bet was the Ewokandtuck Guaranteed Pension Plan, but oh no!. You had to go with a so-called 'reputable' company. I on the other hand, invested heavily in the Tea and Biscuit Hedge Fund. and I now doing very well.....

Have a chat with an Independent Financial Adviser - I've been using mine for many years. He managed to get all the little pensions from various jobs combined and then put into an investment plan. a very trustworthy chap unlike some schemes I could mention, I mean to say, a Tea and Biscuit Hedge Fund. Like that's going to work, building a hedge with biscuits, the first time it rains the biscuits are going to get soggy....

Your so-called 'Independent' expert obviously has no idea of how a hedge fund works. You employ illegal immigrants at below minimum wage and keep them working with the promise of Tea and Biscuits (which rarely if ever appear) Thus in a very short time you have a large and handsome hedge.

Years ago I was persuaded to transfer my company pension into the new PPPs that were introduced in the 80's when the government allowed opting out of compulsory Company pensions, as the new schemes were outstripping the Final salary schemes of the time in growth. However all the "no win no fee" shyster solicitors are now jumping on the miss-sold" PPI schemes, but there has not been any mention of miss-sold pension schemes. I've now got a pension scheme that is worth diddly squat. To make matters worse I was advised I could cash in the scheme at fifty and as it was under a certain amount I could take it as the full cash sum. I duly took it out as I could have got a better interest rate on it than it was earning in the scheme (the insurance commissions were outstripping the performance of the plan!) only to find out that the plan would only pay a cash amount when I was 60 and at 50 it only paid out an annual amount on a weekly basis tying me into a fuck all pay out on a weekly basis. I took it to the Insurance ombudsman and also supplied the documentary evidence to back up the claim for miss-advise and all the Ombudsman did was to side with the advisor advising me that the law stated that pensions could only be paid out at 60 ! I appealed on the grounds irrespective of what the Law States, The advisor gave me misinformation thereby making me to take a decision that ultimately cost me a lot of money in both advising the transfer of a company pension into a underperforming private scheme and then taking out the scheme against current law! The ombudsman basically came back saying tough!

Any of the Government Ombudsman are a bunch of cover up artists for the crimes of the banks, law firms and local Government.
They all claim to be independent but they are not for the simple reason they are paid for by the government.
The Ombudsman services are a sham.
I've wasted a huge amount of time with them for nothing and they can't be honest or professional.
Sorry, but I've just had one Adjudicator lie like f***k and then her colleague another Adjudicator lied more to cover for her colleague. I pointed out their lies quite clearly but hey, they don't care. Biased, bigoted and plain dishonest.
I've had more honesty and respect from the lads who've knocked on my door and I've paid to tarmac my drive over the years. Government Ombudsman? They can kiss my large hairy biker arse !!!

Friar I know how you feel.

There was an Italian mafia boss in the news last week saying the UK is the most corrupt country in the world.
I guess he would know.

I am quite happy to trim the bushes of any of our lady contributors.....

Yes, the hedge fund does come with topiary but that costs another 130% of your monthly income as contributions......

P.S. Do not forget EAT, VAT and Ewokandtuck tax.
