Default staring issues TR1

Hi guys im really stuck and confused any help woukd be awsome as im close to giving up its a TR1motor thanks

It's a TR1 same motor as the bigger virago's the starter clutch is such a bad design in these, Yamaha even put a magnet in to catch the swarf in the later models

As I said before look on you tube there are many video's of this very same problem being sorted

Check out Dr Virago's chanel he is one of the top Virago men on there

ive searched youtube theres a few vids if the problem but no answer on fixing it.

mine has the magnet on the bottom.

Had similar on an XV1100, basically the windings had gone in the starter and ended up fitting a new one. It wasn't fucking cheap but it had no kick start!!!
