Default Good by to a trusty steed

Just sold my 21 yr old Honda NTV 650. It's been my trusty reliable ride for all that time, never let me down. I've been all over the UK, and to France and Portugal on it. As much as I've ordered myself a new bike, still had mixed feelings at letting the old girl go, but I need to free up the storage space for the new bike. Hopefully my new bike will be as much fun .

It was but I don't have much space in the shed. I,d rather it went to someone who will use it rather than it gathering dust. It's still a great, reliable bike.

Got the Harley bug, so ordered a 2016 883 Iron. Delivery is just after my 50th birthday in March. Softens the blow a bit from selling the Honda

I should hope you did sir, you contributed some good advice when I couldn't decide what the hell to replace the Honda with initially.

I just hope that you're as happy with it as I am with mine
The only grumble that i have with mine is the front brake light switch sticks on at times
Other than that it's been reliable as a reliable thing can be

Not so sure if i like the fact that it pulls a crowd whenever it's parked but i can live with that

Roll on March let's hope we have a great spring and summer this year

Virtual pints all round Dai

I hope so. It'll be very different to the Honda, and probably take some getting used. I know the 2016 model has been revamped and there are quite a few chanced to the model, based on feedback. Can't wait, the bike is ordered for March 17th so as you say, hopefully we get a good summer.

Aha another convert to the agricultural wonders of Harley Davidson. Welcome aboard

Worth joining the riders club, or at the very least their forum. Good people and a cracking knowledge base, loads of rides out, meets, rallys etc.

Enjoy, they're a lovely looking machine.

Now who's round is it

It is isn't it. I hired one for daytona last year, it rides well and is a good fit for a short arse like me. Cheers for the riders club suggestion. Not much of a joiner, but get the HOG membership with the bike. Not sure if that suits me though.

Not sure they would speak to me if I take up the membership . Not much on the social stuff and been riding jap bikes to long to take myself seriously as a Harley snob

Aye I feel a bit uncomfortable with the HOG lot. Might just be the ones I've met but they've all been from the well healed, clean finger nails side of the fence whereas the riders club seem to have mainly came through the ranks, building and maintaining all manner of shite until they found their place.

I don't do enough with them tbh but they're a good bunch and have helped out info wise a few times. Tool loan scheme etc makes it worthwhile too if you're doing your own spannering.

Speil over, sounding like a bloody advert now

Default ,

Found the same with HOG.The ones I've met seem nice enough but I'm not sure it's a good fit for me. Some of the rallys are good (Thunder in the Glens, Wake the Lakes).Don't know owt about the riders club. Something to check out.

Had an hour or so looking at their youtube video's looks interesting

But it still seems wrong to pay your money and join the club

There again I'm an old man now not in the best of health so therefore not able to give the commitment to a MC

In all my years of riding I have never found a mcc that i wanted to join

Going to join forum see how that goes try the monthly meets if all goes well join ( as Ann says if it gets me out the house once a month it won't be a bad thing)

But I am a grumpy old fucker that don't mix well with stranger's

You'll fit right in then

Place is chock-a-block with misfits who just happen to get along. Good luck
