Default Newb to the forum.

I see a few names I know from the NABD and other places.
Hello and I hope this place is a bit more lively than most bike forums atm?
I've been around on bikes a bit and most midlanders know me or of me.
14 years on from the bike smash and I'm still on 2 wheels. Not ready for the third wheel yet.
I got wiped out by a hit and run near Gaydon who left me smacked up badly and unconscious and dying under my first Busa in a deep ditch.
Got my first road bike in 1975 living in Warwick. Now that was a time and a place!
I ride fast Jap bikes. Had 5 Busa's, a few GSXRs and rapid Kawasaki's. I never leave a bike standard.
Favourite place to be is Santa Pod watching bikes and top fuellers.
I'm still in and out of the JR brain injury unit and Nuffield spinal unit in Oxford.

Biker for life.

Enough of my waffle for now.

In and out of the JR? Been there a few times myself. But in my Case the father in law was admitted with pneumonia! We lived in Sutton Courtenay, and had the Father in law living In Abingdon in sheltered accommodation. Dark times they were. Poor chap ended up in a home with Alzheimers. But I bought my current bike from George White's in Cowley. A Yamaha Fazer 600, brand new. Sold it on ebay in 2007 to buy a car for the missus' birthday. Then a couple of years ago I saw a Fazer600 for sale on ebay for 600 quid. put in an offer for the buy it now price. and got it. When speaking to the sell I told him I had had a bike similar to it, called Homer as the reg no. was X796HMR. He replied it was X796HMR! And to cap it off It was the same bloke I had sold it to in 2007!

I hope you are getting better now. and not too may more trips to the Hospital, mate. I like your sense of humour. you'll need it n here. We're a strange bunch!

Just look like a normal bunch a bikers to me.
The getting better ain't going to happen I'm on then downhill run now.
I ain't going to tell what happened in the bike smash because its bad and because there are things that some people don't need to know about.
I had a ride in the air ambulance but I didn't get a bloody sticker or a lolly !!!

Just been diagnosed with major brain injury, I talk reasonable because my comms centre wasn't damaged, but the rest of me brain is a tad fooked.
The brain surgeon is a biker too so that was a big help. Dealing with the Neural Psychologists does my head in, bunch of jerks.
The test results for Peripheral neuropathy just came back negative so MS is still on the cards.
Spinal surgeon says I won't be able to walk in 10 years.... Yeah we'll see.
But I am worth a lot in scrap metal apparently. My little lady say she's going to have me smelted down when I pop me clogs so she can turn my metalwork into body jewellery and then she can wear me. Bless her, she's so sweet.

She got smacked by a hit and run van driver 10 years before we met while riding her 916. We share quite an acute sense of humour

I just bought a used 2 Bro's pro-street exhaust for my bike and been cleaning that up this week. Had a deal !!!
I still ride, what else is there?
You got to have a laugh ? A BIG laugh is all the better.

Still on 2 wheels. A 96 Kawasaki Zephyr ZR1100.
It's an air cooled 4 pot in the style of the old Z1/Z900.
But I've modified it up to around 120 bhp. Kept it real on the styling.
Turned into a nut and bolt rebuild, keeps me occupied.

I had a Busa as well up until 2010 to which I'd fitted a Rotrex blower and got it up to just under 240 rear wheel horse power. I'd slammed and stretched it. Wheelied easily on the throttle, it was a beast.
Monster torque and it ran perfectly.

I can lurch for a bit

Left leg is still 1/2" shorter, my left foot turns inwards so I trip over my right foot Pelvic tilt. pelvic twist, shit core strength and my lumbar spine is 29 degrees off the vertical. .... and some other stuff.
My bike mates called me lurch when my left leg was 4cm short with collapsing femur.

How about yourself, what are you riding?

I've got a Fazer 600. Bought new in 2001 for my 40th birthday. Took it to the TT in 2002. Then didn't use it for a while, and decided to sell it for the missus' 50th birthday. Then a couple of years ago I was on Ebay as you do, and noticed a Fazer not dissimilar to my old fazer and it was only up the road with a BIN price of 600 quid. So I bought it and sod the consequences from the missus! Emailed the guy and said I had had a fazer just like this one which I called Homer as the reg no. was X796 HMR. He emailed back saying that this was Homer (X796 HMR) and to cap it all it was the same bloke I flogged it to in 2007!

I sold in pristine condition with 14k on the clock, but he was a Motorcycle Training instructor and had put 35k on it! I it was a bit battered and bruised but essentially ok still. I needed to put new down pipes on (stainless) new radiator and fan, two new Battlax BT10s, a new battery, new brake pads and pistons! All in all about 1500 quids worth! Way more than what the bikes worth but I've got my bike back! And it aint going any where else now!

Kin Ell ! That's amazing. I guess it was spoked to come back to you in the end.
Likewise I've thought about selling the Zephyr 11 and buying a cheap ZZR1100D. Cheap speed, but my little lady likes the pillion on the Zephyr.

To be honest you didn't miss much on there.
I left because I'd had enough of the small number of wannabees and tossers. But it was good for a while.

Nick and H have disappeared since he quit drag racing.
I saw Masterofinsanity a couple of times but not sure
where he's at now..... dicko disappeared up north with another woman.

The last few years I've become a bit if a recluse with my little lady. Same one.

Still think of Streetfighter Sundays at the Ace, it wasn't that long ago. What a laff!!! But it all got it a bit precious with the SF clubs and I just can't be arsed with all that.
We still do the bike events but usually by car because both our health isn't too hooptie.

10 stone since May 2015 is a hell of an acheivement mate !!!!! Wow !!!! Respect to you

I am surviving which is good by todays standards. My health isnt too hooptie but I keep a lid on it 99% of the time.
I'm lucky to have a positive attitude to most things and thats what keeps me rolling........and taking the piss out of everything generally.
