Tonight I shall be taking photos of racing - unfortunately not bike racing but strange people who like to use their feet for transport - my daughter is among them!

That's a toughy mate, try one of these, but don't kiss it goodnight afterwards!

I had the same sort of problem when I gave up smoking. There was two things wrong with substituting sex for smoking:

A. There weren't any women willing to have sex twenty times a day!
B. I couldn't keep it up!

I shall be on the ferry on the 8th of July....

Driving across Spain and have a Villa with a pool outside of Faro for 2 weeks, then drive back again. Only 21 days but no work to go back to as I am now retired..... Counting the days!

Nah just a little riding of ones motorcycle to sunnier climbs, with a few rallies thrown in for good measure.
Why not get yourself down to Stansted airport, hop on a cheap flight to Faro around the weds 16th / thurs 17th July and come party with us, you could be home by Sunday night, the airport entrance is only 500m from the rally site entrance ................ G`won you know you want to

Are you taking the bike or car?
Are you going to the Faro Rally?

I have accommodation 500m from the Faro rally site, and will be in Faro from the 16th, so if your going to the rally we might be able to meet for a beer

Unfortunately going in the car, bike still in bits for rebuild. I will be at the Faro rally so we could probably meet up there, we are up in the middle of nowhere (Santa Catarina Da Fonte Do Bispo) right up a dirt track. We are there from the 12th to the 26th. I hope to take a tent to the rally so we have somewhere to sit and cool off. Will have to arrange a meet, is anybody else coming to Faro?

I figure that's 26 miles away. My route from Seville passes close to you, as I`ll be avoiding the autoroute and taking the back roads.
Parking the car close to the site might be difficult, as no cars are allowed onsite once the rally has started. But parking at the airport will be possible, but expensive. I`ll rack my brains to figure out where you`d be able to park the car. Though getting someone to drop you off might be an idea

That sound good to me.
You usually find Blackhack in residence in 1 of the hotels at Faro

Anyone going Faro, who might be familiar with the site area and the small village behind the rally site, you`ll find me on the weds night at a bar down there. Drinking beers till the small hours with my buddies. If you type into Street view the address "Rua Aquilino Ribeiro 124 Faro" and its the small "snack bar" opposite the rent a car place that has the yellow awning.
I`m actually staying in that village, close to the tennis courts

If you get there early, you can park cars along the main road down to the Pria, Although last time I used the car (Trike electrics blew up on the M5) we parked up before the rally started and stayed there. I don't know if there will be space once things kick off.....

Will look out that address and try and make it...Portuguese drink drive laws are a lot tighter than ours!

That's the last time I drink Leffe! Shared two bottles with my Brother Terry, last night. Had the most horrendous nightmare! Had some dream about a geezer that looked like that Barry Scott prat from the TV advert was maniacally trying to slice my right eye out with a Stanley knife. The missus had to wake me up! Now I can't get back to sleep! Hence up at Silly O'clock! Again!

It might be worth taking a look down by the café/snack bar. but as you say, you have to get there early. I know the café owner lets my Portuguese mates missus park her car on the land at the side of the café for a small fee. That way she carries the camping gear & kids and he rides the bike. But that's an arrangement they`ve had for years.

Anyhow FT when does your flight land at Faro, and should I pick you up on the bike?

Apropos of nothing at all, here's a pic of a moth I found in my garden last week. I looked it up in my trusty moth identification book, it's a poplar vhawk moth...personally I thought it was a big b*gger.

Waking up to my 1st day in Spain, & the bikes outside.
I'll be heading 260 miles to Zaragoza via the A629, A232 over the Picos towards Miranda do Ebro past the embalsa de sobron then down the A8 to Zaragoza and staying there for a couple of nights before riding east thru the twisty roads to tortosa

Your overstating the bleeding obvious ......

It's something like 30'c-32'c here in Zaragoza at the moment.
Which is why after leave Zaragoza & I know its only going to get hotter, & im expecting it to hit 40'c in Granada.
So I'll be keeping the hops between destinations to around 150 miles or 4 hrs, but riding down the AP68 from Miranda it was warming up nicely. But riding down the A629 over the hills from Santander I was freeing in the mesh suit & had to pull on my oversuit.
