Default EBAY Postage fees!

"From 4 September, final value fees for all private sellers will change, as well as insertion fees for private sellers with a Basic Shop on eBay.co.uk

Final value fees change for all private sellers

Final value fees will be charged based on the combined value of the item listed plus postage. For example, if an item sells for 20 with postage cost of 4, the final value fee will be charged based on the combined value of 24. This will not apply if the listing offers collection only. "

Even if buyer says he wants to collect - you cant get postage money back!

Been watching it over the last few weeks on my mags4nabd ebay sites and its working out around 10p in the 1 ( so if you charge 1.99 post Ebay will take a fee of 20p for it!)

Its now cheaper to post freepost - but then you cany use the 100 free listings below 99p !

I have given up on ebay now, just list everything on my website and promote it through farcebook. No fees at all.

Must admit - if Mags5nabd keeps selling as well as it has the last few weeks on facebook, then I will close 5 of the 6 ebay accounts i use for Mags4nabd down, just keeping one open for those mags I know will attract multipul bids

have made nearly as much this month of facebook sales as io did for the whole of 2012!

I've sold over 20,000 worth of old stock on Ebay in 2 years, before Ebay it would have sat there gathering dust. Can't afford not to use it unfortunately.

It also gives me a chance to take old stock from my suppliers at vastly reduced prices and sell on Ebay for a decent profit...

Love it or hate it, it's become a part of my business.

I don't mind paying the odd fee here or there for the luxury of buying/selling from my own home.

I do however view their new policy of charging you for postage (a third party service) abhorrant and just plain greedy.

Like many others I have tried ebid, but it just doesen't cut the mustard. Perhaps eBay's new found greed. It could be the springboard it needs.

Thats because most traders now charge over the odd postage!

But an item for 7 and they charge 40 in postage, total bollox!
