Default cleaning barrels

for anyone that has done this before whats the best way to clean all the fur and gumpf from here


ive been sitting down with the usual can of gunk and a soft brush, but was wondering what other methods people have used

Soak it with diesel for a couple of hours, occasionally brushing and reapplying to the grubby bits then steam clean it.

The only time I ever got my pots clean was when I worked in a place that had a cabinet sandblaster..

Dishwasher works [only use half a tablet] if you got the motor stripped, in your case a little wire brush on a dremel once you have got the crud off then little polishing mops on the dremel

I've used a big polishing mop run at very slow speed.

That way it gets between the fins.

cilit bang oven cleaner then dishwasher..dont let ya mrs find out, run dishwasher empty after wards then dry and posih parts.


diesel soak or gunk soak then steam cleaning.

thanks for the replies all - will post pics as im doing it john and unfortunately cant do the dishwasher thing as i dont have one, and the oven cleaner suggestion sounds good

I would seal the ends up and sand blast it, has to be the easiest, sadly wont fit in my ultrasonic tank

otherwise yeah that ovenpride stuff might do the job??

what about making a soda blaster thingy??

dishwasher is good, but you have to run a few cycles afterwards, my missus came home and found 3 black powder revolvers in the dishwasher LOL, had to put it through about 3 intensive cycles to get rid of the smell

the knock on effect is that Im banned form using it ever again, and I take her to her word, not even for dirty dishs LOL
