Default z1300 trike for sale

My mate who bought my z1300 hardtail trike last year has had some very bad news concerning his health so is having to sell the trike on as he will be in no state to ride it anytime soon or possibly ever
The trike is motd and taxed for a while but unfortunately i don't have the details to hand
The asking price is 3200 which is considerably less than its worth and a damn sight less than he paid me but he just needs the trike away so he can leave his girlfriend some money and not give her the hassle of selling the trike when hes gone (very likely )
His contact details are his name is steve
If you need to ask any details i can probably answer most concerning the build and spec and steve isnt really up to loads of phone calls due to undergoing chemo etc
Will put better pics up when i can but you get the idea from this one

Should probably mention the trike has a flat spot about 1500 to 2000 due to float heights needing set but may well tune out by adjusting the mixture screws as z1300s are a bit of a pain in this department
The flat spot could be sorted in an hour on a dyno i'm sure
The trike has a reliant back axle ,disc brakes on the front and rear (four pot fireblade ones on the front ) all tyres are brand new ,295 50 15s on the back (cost 300) 15inch wide compomotive porsche split rim wheels on the back (cost me 400)twin fat bob tanks and also has a tank under the rear rack so has a huge range (8 gallon maybe ) before you need to stop for fuel

very sorry to hear of this, and even more sorry that I dont have that sort of cash, a Z13 trike is my dream object to own one day.

it will sell no doubt about that, the price is too low in my opinion, but I expect thats to get a quick and esy sale, somenoe is going to get a total bargain

I will try and get some better pics of the trike tomorrow when i go to see steve as i believe the trike now has different bars as the ones in the pic above were a bit too wide for his girlfriend so he has put a set of pullback tiller style bars on

I will put on any faults on the trike that i see although the price wont alter one iota but at least you will know what needs done

From memory it just wants brackets taken off and painted and the tank has a few chips in it as it has been on and off a few times when i was changing the coils for cb750 honda ones

The trike was built up to make sure everything fit properly and when steve and sheila came to see it they wanted to take the trike away there and then so i never got it stripped back down to paint the brackets etc and the paintjob was a bit of a rush job (its orange with mirrorflake )
With the weather being so horrendous this winter the trike didnt get stripped and redone

The trike has a brand new battery on plus a hydraulic clutch conversion too and all the brake hoses are braided and brand new

I'll pass the condolences on when i see sheila next ,as you can imagine shes a bit messed up at the moment as they lived together 17 yrs .

Steve was at the hospital on the 10 april when he asked me to have a look at the trike to get it running a bit better and mentioned he had had a camera down his throat and was told he had a bit of scarring on his asophagus but not to worry as it was nothing sinister

So told not to worry 7 weeks ago to being told 2 weeks ago he had incurable cancer

Theres alot of people wanting to do a bit of damage to the consultant at the moment but i'm sure we will calm down eventually

Should be a massive turn out for the funeral by all accounts

Can add an 02 plate mondeo ,04 fireblade ,toyota hilux with a rover v8 big wheels and a jack up kit and a subaru imprezza to the for sale list too now

Cheers for the offer but i think everything is covered (its a long way from you too, south of scotland )
Think his parents are wanting it not too over the top bike wise but there will be a few there as most of us who knew steve ride bikes and drive rods too

I have had another look at the trike for sheila and have come to the conclusion the tapers on the mixture screws are snapped off in the carbs and it more than likely wants a set of ignition pick ups too as it has a pain in the arse misfire and drops onto four cylinders (or less maybe) whenever the mood takes it

So in short i would recommend those interested in the trike hang back until we have managed to source these bits or give sheila 3000 and take it as it is and do it yourself

Might be worth making something up so you can fuel inject the motor and do away with the iffy carbs and pick ups (megasquirt is cheap option )

Default Still going !

Nice to see my trike is still out there !. I built it in the early 90's. It was built to be as short as possible, it had no fuel tank on the front an no rear seat or back rest. I got "best Trike" at NCC north Devon first time out the workshop.

Sold a while back for next to nowt as sheila was sick of seeing it everyday i believe .
Been a while since i thought about the trike and i wonder where it went
This trike would have been awesome if it had ran a bit better as a z1300 dropping onto a couple of pots then suddenly kicking back in on to six again was enough to make your arse twitch big time

I remember this Trike well when it was Stevies I done a bit of work on the wiring and replaced a couple of ignition coils etc. when running right it sounded stunning.

You keeping ok Ian? not been in touch for a while mate, did you ever install the Chevy V8 into the POP?.

Hello alfie
Myself and mike had great plans to fit the chevy in the pop but decided in the end i would have to move the bulkhead back which meant moving the pedals and redoing the floor so i could fit a th350 box and fit a better axle which meant the wheels would no longer fit
the decision was made for me when i got offered 750 for it lol

Best thing is i now have a chassis to fit it ,typical .
i managed to swap a set of wheels for another 305ci chevy that came with a full holley injection set up so am building a chevy engined kubelwagen plaything

And yes that ź13 sounded fucking awesome on the odd occasion it decided to run on all six

Might put the body kit for the kubel into limited production just to earn a bit of pocket money as its fairly easy to lay up fibreglass ,just got to get the kit off neil down on Port street but he's being neil .
the kubel kit

The chassis (terrible pic but you get the idea)

And in the naughty corner covered in crap lol
