Default Finally on the road again.

First very short test ride on my Honda VT700 yesterday..Slight coolant leak..top radiator hose clip loose..horn mount loose..radiator fan not coming on ..Tightened hose clip, tightened horn mount, fitted handlebar fan switch..

This is the first bike I have ridden with forward controls, it feels as if the front wheel isn't touching the road, and my feet don't feel like they are in the right place, also after the Vmax it feels like a toy bike..To be honest I feel a twat getting dressed in a leather jacket and wearing a helmet, boots and gloves.

If it survives the 25th ride out it will probably do for the round the coast ride, I've done enough work on it.

Oh and the cheapo waterproof GPS works well.

John.

Second test ride, lost my power at about 30mph, kicking, farting and spluttering and so was the bike..

Couldn't buy an air filter so carb clean, and then loads of fairy liquid in the oily air filter, a scrub with an old toothbrush, a really good rinse and half an hour with the hair drier and the bike does what it's supposed to..

I'm getting used to it but I think I'm going to have to upgrade it sooner or later..700ccs just seems to miss the mark, It has a bit of poke but after the max it seems like hard work..and the front end seems a bit off.

John
