I flogged a 73 fs1e a few years back for 250 + an MOT and parts for the 125.

Value depends on what it needs - mudgaurds are worth there weight in gold as they all rotted away - my rear one snapped above the rear wheel (i used it as a winter hack for 3 years in early 2000's) i was offered one "good enough to make a pattern from" for 130 whaen i said I had one of those it was just too far gone to weld again he offered me 50 for the one I had.

I got rid of mine as i didnt have the time to track down the parts or do the necessary work to keep it on road. All the engine bolts were crossheads and at 40k miles with the original piston (2nd set of rings) it was in need of a lot of that. Also frame pivot for centrestand/brake pedal had worn so much the brake locked under the exhaust

Personally i bet it has cost him more than that so far but is only worth c500

just like anything, its worth what someone will pay

bike costs you 500 to build, is it then only worth 500 to sell.

right person right place and you get the right price

theres a big revival in the old small bikes, people are reaching that age in life where they have some disposable income and want to recreate the spotty yoof that they had, so they spend fortunes on the likes of that bike

350lc and ypvs are ridiculous examples, as are the more modern RS125 aprilias etc,

niche market and people are willing to pay the money for them
nowt of much use here

there's a young lad op the street from me uses one every day, was his dad's and has never been restored, never had to do anything 'cept tyres,, oil and cables. Some middle aged anorak offered him 3k for it last month and laddie told him to shove it
there is no such thing as history repeating itsself, it's just new idiots making old mistakes!!
