Exclamation Hello From Aberdeen

Hello all,

I've been lurking for a wee bit but thought I'd might as well sign up as it's not exactly been painful (yet ).

I'm reasonably new to (legal) biking. I only passed my test in January '10 after 2 hours of lessons .

Then I got this

It's a 1993 GSX-R750 and makes me smile or grimace in terror

Unfortunately it looks more like this at the moment

It was drinking the oil due to knackered valve stem oil seals but I found a cheap low miles motor to swap with. Currently I just need to sort out carb linkages and it should be sorted and ready for the fairings to go back on.

As you can see in the second photo I also like my VW aircooled stuff an have 2 campers and a 1955 Beetle (that I'm not chopping to make a trike! )

Cheers,
Paddy

hi paddy, welcome to the forum.

Fill out the UserCP up there on the left so that we will know you are a porridge wog.

Hope you get the bike running soon and make sure you have an engine number on the replacement engine..

John.

Done and the replacement motor is all above board. I very nearly decided to plonk in an RF900 motor just for shits and giggles but I'd probably ended up spending over 500 for that so it was a no-no

I'm planning on taking the bike in to a local mechanic in the next couple of weeks to fine tune it, I've had it running (like a bag of spanners) but am scratching my arse now on getting it purring like a kitten again.

Cheers,
Paddy

That's a bit harsh, Pugwash.

Everyone knows that the internet and electricity runs over wires - and that copper wire was invented in Aberdeen by two skirt wearers fighting over a penny...
