At least MCF are consistent & getting another big named band on the bill before any of the UK major events do. Though a couple of the other bands on the MCF bill are becoming the same ones each year.

Though for anyone considering riding down, the cost of getting there, either by ferry or thru' France is steadily rising, and potentially prohibitive. Especially with the demise of the pride of Bilbao ferry. Brittany ferries are asking around 550-650 return for a motorcycle + rider & also have turned 1/2 their routes into slow boat booze cruises. Making the alternative 80-130 rtn air fare attractive by comparison.

I wonder how Nik will be getting there this year??

Don't forget to turn left as you get out of the airport, Nik.

I see what Pob means about the cost of riding there becoming increasingly prohibitive. With the price of oil rising ever faster due to unrest in north Africa, I can see a lot of people flying to Faro this year. I know I have said in the past that the ride to faro would be a great adventure, but as it stands flying there is the only option left for many folks this year.

It wont stop them having a great time though.

I have to agree with you. Its the next logical step of all the changes I`ve seen it go thru` over the years, its gone from a good sized event, where the atmosphere was welcoming, personnel & friendly, to impersonnel & business like, which is why I stopped going, & didn`t go last year.
The advance booking now means that going there on the spur of the moment as some may wish to do, may not be an option. An email has been sent to the club asking if its possible to add PayPal or credit card payment to the online registration process for non Portugese wishing to attend this year

Time to look at certain other alternative spanish/portugese rallies me thinks.

According to a friend in the Club, you don't HAVE to prebook. He says, 'Having to? Not to my knowledge, the difference is that now, you can prebook, for the first time ever, as a lot of people already did.'

Nik I've never known anyone being turned away at the gate ever, but there could be a 1st time. Let's hope you right, and pre-book isn't necessary/compulsory. As I'm told as of last night there are 2000+ pre-books already.
I'm not bother about going Faro, the only thing i miss is the chraic with my irish & portugese mates whom ive partied with over there for many years.
I'm getting all this 2nd hand from other people who intend on going. but people seemed to be under the impression that pre-booking is something that needs to be done to ensure they don't get turned away after going to the trouble of travelling from the UK & NI by various means

The original email Q was:
Hi,
I would like to point out that for any person (Inc me) in the UK, the process to pay for the ticket is complex.
Maybe you can add PayPal or credit card payment of ticket on website for non Portuguese.
the reply recieved is:
"I will check the possibility respond within a few

Default Whoever it is

Can you not quote the info in my posts on other forums. Even though people are possibly members on this and many other forums. People are quite capable of figuring out how to do it for themselves.
