Default Apologies

I have over time written things here that are...just about acceptable in decent society...
&
I have also written on harleys: slow, not fond of stopping & ridden by mid life crises'ers...fond of trousers with no arse etc.

but today i brought one home.

I'd like to think (as i'm amongst friends) that this is a stop gap bike to get me thru' a time of no moto guzzi,
&
that will in time be a treasured memory...however, on 1st riding: they don't go that well or stop that well...do they?

ps: its a 1200 sportster of some vintage

proceed to rip a new one at your leisure....

I'm feeling the lure of a big vee myself. Love me Trumpy but there's just something about the uneven kachoomph kachoomph of a big vee that's tugging at my heart.

Smile It was me!!!!!!!!!

I SOLD IT TO HIM!!!!!

Mickturate, you are a cad and a scoundrel Sir! That is a damn fine motorcycle you have bought. Your public slating of such noble and refined machinery does you no credit. (Just joking mate).

Hey mate, I never claimed it would replace your Guzzi. To be fair I did tell you it would take a bit of riding to get used to it and that it needed a good service. You have been spoiled by your Guzzi. Very different bikes. I hope you get it sorted and grow to love them as I and many others do.

The Evo Sportster is a very underestimated bike. I try to ignore those that have to make silly comments about them, usually through ignorance or jealousy. They do go well enough once you get used to them. Your Guzzi was/is much more refined than the Sportie. The brakes on a Guzzi are far superior to the standard Harley ones. The suspension has to be tuned to the rider on a Harley as they are so heavy, longer wheelbase etc. Someone with your experience will notice the little things on a Harley that someone used to the smooth running jap bikes and the likes of your Guzzi will not normally encounter.

It was good to see you again. Best of luck rebuilding the Guzzi. Hope all goes well with that, good to see that you were not badly hurt.

Best wishes

Chopper.

I don't think I've ever heard anyone describe a Guzzi as "refined" before....

he does make exceedingly good scones....

moto guzzi = refined, it was the 1100 California EV, fuel injected (& stepping out over the line???)(was that the Boss's line?) & did thousands of miles without a missed beat-despite the scone heavy cargo

now, who's gotthe custard?

Harley's are good bikes (I don't believe I've just typed that ) and, if I had the money to buy one lying around, I would have one. Well, I'd need something to ride through the winter while I take my Triumph offo fo the road OK, joking aside, I would have one but I don't have the money to buy one or anywhere to keep it. It would have to be a big twin though as Sportsters are just that bit too small for me. Nothing wrong with them, just too small for my 6 foot frame. Enjoy it for what it is and have fun putting some miles on it.

I worked at 'a place' for a few years....& that sign irritated the fuck out of me: big time serious
&
then miraculously 2 weeks beore I left, it disappeared
&
I got to park my bike where the sign used to be....some time after I left, it miracles of miracles appeared on my garage...life is fantastic innit?
