Default VHT paint

Anyone recommend a good VHT paint that gives a good finish and will stand up to all the road and weather has to offer. Engine is in bits so could possibly cure in oven as long as it only has to be a house hold oven. Might as well. It's not getting used for anything else. Engine is air/oil cooled

have you stripped the barrels to the bare metal? If they are aluminium you will need to treat with aluminium etch primer first otherwise any paint will just fall off in time.

I cant rememeber how many times I have posted this and on which forums but I paint vehicles all day every day and have built a few chops and a trike , all of which have used oil/air cooled motors and all of which have been cleaned up by shot blasting and then acid etch primed and painted in normal run of the mill 2 pak paint which I use to spray all my customers cars and bikes with . It never comes off and I must have painted over 30-40 motors this way for myself and customers in all colours , matt/ satin and gloss finishes . It is all in the prep work and thats that . If its prepped up right then 2 pak paint is fine on motors , it doesn't peel with the heat or suffer badly with stone chips . It wont work on exhausts though . Think how hot a black car bonnet can get in the hottest sun and with the heat of an engine underneath and that doesnt peel .
It works , I have done it and have many motors to prove it . You just have to get the engine cleaned up extremely well first and paint applied correctly .
