Tricky... Halfords fuel resistant laquer is fairly neutral. You need to try it on a sample first, it has a similar composition to smoothrite

Looks like they do make a clearcoat

Always better to use campatable stuff.

2 pack should do it. A bit of clear should bring that out really well, nice one.

Halfords do a lacquer, its suitable for plasti kote paint but might react lol.

cheers for the info,
strima. if the clear doesnt work i will try the 2pack. if that doesnt work i will use magic marker pens

forgot to mention. for those who havnt used this paint. tha mat black i have used has an oily sparkle to it. and feels nice to touch.( i know that sounds slightly dodgy) lol

i might try this as well (experiment). unfortunatly they dont seem to sell this in sussex. (distribution problems)

just a breif note. the krystal clear just leaves a film that rubs off etc.
they do a clear acrylic lacquer. plasti kote said this is there lacquer. its not. its just a clear spray paint that also rubs off.
i have just sampled a clear acrylic lacquer from carplan. looks ok so far.

i sprayed a load of american football helmets last year and just used a standard airosol laquer from the spray shop down the road.... no probs with it at all. and helmets stood up to the challenge with out chipping either....

I tried that stuff on my dummy tank. still no permanent damage, I managed to clean it off and got the tank resprayed at the local spray shop..

It could be because the paint is crap, but most likely because I cant spray...
