Default my new project

well its been soom time since ive been on here so ill tell you what ive been up to .
some time ago i was planing on grafting a gsx1400 engine in to a slingshot frame
one thing led to another and i scraped the idea
then one day after a long conversation with a bloke in germany i came to the conclusion why not build a frame

so i started
sorry if this is going to be long winded theres a lot of pics

here you will see the main top tube spar and the front legs
with the head stock in place on the bench

next pic placed on the engine

once these was right i started on the rear legs

every thing you see is taken from the engine to the jig tacked and back again untill happy with it then its welded fully
the next pic is me getting the swingarm pivot point sorted as these come off the bottom of the rear legs

then i started to do the front and rear braceing

the next few pics are me trying to sort out a petrol tank
as its got a single top tube i was going to ever mod a tank or use one with a tunnel in to work right

this one is a sliingshot wp tank with the bottom cut out
i was not sure about it so i left it and moved on to the rear section
the thinng was if i get the right rear then the tank will follow but things do change (doint they)

my idea was to re-build the sides and lower parts of the tank
the tank was scraped but i kept the tail end
then i tryed a few cruser tanks and after a head scrath i was thinking of useing the blue tank

humm not to bad but not right

now thats a bit better & a bit differant
this is were i stoped work for a month as we moved house
then when i got sorted i sprayed up the tank and rear end just for a look see

then it was passed by the wife (lol got to keep her happy )
so on to the shock set up

from here every thing was going to plan then i run in to one problem somehow
frame had moved and i had lost the chain run ....dam

but after a bit of lateral thinking ..i sorted it
this is were im up to as of now
well i like it its a cross between a streetfighter and a old skool bike

That looks as if it could be very fast.

Like the combination of steel and wood.
