Default Cafe racer build sites

I have a mate who is goin to cafe racer his '71 cb500 four.
He needs some build sites to get ideas and parts.
Can anyone recommend any?

i wouldnt bother worth far more in original trim

excellent original examples now trading hands above the 2k mark

if it aint in original trim go for it.... the ones fetchin money have usually had fortunes thrown at them to get them back to originality...i wouldnt like to guess how much a standard set of four into four pipes would cost nowadays...nah...cafe it up ...reverse cone megas..etc....do it

To think I've used mine up commuting, what the fuck, they are for riding, not selling. The 550's are still cheap enough to cafe racer. Bombproof engine, I'll always keep one around.

You could do worse then talking to these guys, dead handy lot when it comes to knowing bout sohc Hondas, some cafe racers amoungst them. Lots of cr750 reps too.

theres a guy in the states that sells kits to take em out to 599,605,650 cc's

also to stage 1 2 & 3 race tune - im still trying to find his website addy tho

teh yonly showing 750 hondas at mo - but send em an email they may still make teh kits or supply ya with comp engine rebuilt to your specs

when i had my 550 chop a few years back i looked into costs and with them syupplying the core engine taking it out to 650cc and shipping it was just over 800.00 cost then of rebuild here over 1400.00 subject to parts being available
