i had one, betsy was her name, someone offered me down right silly big money for her, so off she went, replaced with another zed, the incorrigibly ugly z500.

Im a massive fan of the zeds, love them to bits

this was the last one that I owned, went from japan to usa in about 78, then to uk in 99, and back to japan in 2006 LOL

looked real smart and bog stock, but had a lot of engine internal work, and dyna programmable ignition.

I'll take one tonight, bit fed up over this, was really looking forward to getting to on the road, front forks are completely gone, one has a really bad chip out of it. It has also had bits taken off of it I knew the calipers were missing, but a disc has been taken, the coils the shocks plus other bits.

I will rummage through my stash too, Pyro. PM me and Drew a list and we will probably have all or most of what you need between us. Looking at those pics I would say we can have it up and running in no time mate.

The things that worry me most are the fork legs, shocks and missing disc, I can repair the damaged casing and rewire it myself. I have a set of Nissin calipers (no idea what they are off) that I think I can modify to fit, the carbs were drained properly and are in excellent nick. Engine turns over fine, will test the alternator at the weekend.

I'm quite happy to come and pick up the bits (be nice to have a beer as well!)

Just let me know by pm what you have and how much you want.

Thanks.

Thats a early one prob only had a single disc as standard, I had the same wheels on a early Zed I had propper Kawasaki optional extra, mine had a single disc and drum rear, later ones had twin discs and a rear disc too. Good lil project you got there, dont get disheartened its a good bunch on here, an I'll have a rummage see if I got owt remaining too.

Defo twin discs, so will need a disc, the crank casing is broken just above the points cover, I can repair that with soft metal, I have the points cover. didnt notice the starter cover missing though.

reg/rec is kaput, no problem I'll build one, the alternator is pushing out some voltage will be able to tell better when I put a battery on and spin it.
engine feels nice as you kick it so hoping that its ok.
