Default Philosophy

So there I was working on the ST1100 fitting new fork seals and bushes, when a deep philosophical thought came to me! Why don’t the stupid twatts who design these things put a “D” shape on the end of the damper tube and a matching one inside the fork slider, so the sodding thing stays still while I undo the bolt?
The whole leg is now in the vice I can hold the damper tube with a pair of pliers and an electric drill driving an Allen key turning the bolt. Nuffink the damper tube must be in two bits and I can’t stop the bottom bit turning.
I think its “Breaking Bad” and a bottle of rum for me tonight, at least that bloke has got worse problems than me
