Default Dog Trike

Hi Guys

Malcolm and Alena here from Belfast Northern Ireland and members of BTW Ireland. Thought u might like to see some pics of our adaption to our Rewaco HS6 to carry our two boxer dogs.

Wasn't sure they would take to it while I was building the extensions so was delighted when they took to it straight away otherwise a lot of money and time out the window.

We have done a bit of touring in europe with them and attended a few rallies and everywhere we go we are swamped by folk wanting pics and to stroke the dogs. A serious head turner and great fun.

Hope u like.

Mal

So why dont you like it?
You dont like dogs?
You dont like trikes?
Ever thought that he didnt do it for you, it was his own choice, a choice the same as you have made as to what you ride.
I say that its different, not the style i would choose, but each to their own.
Just rememeber "your never alone with a clone".

The dogs look more than happy and obviously some time and thought has gone into their little 'side cars'.

Friend of mine used to carry his dog in a sidecar with a harness (after she outgrew the box on the tank!). One of his nosy neighbours reported him to the RSPCA. An RSPCA inspector came round, explained that he'd had a report of cruelty. Tef opened the door and the dog went dashing out and leapt into the chair and sat there expectantly. Tef had to take the combination around the block before she'd get out. The RSPCA inspector went away laughing.

Not saying it aint well built, or to his own spec, but I dont agree with taking dogs on bikes or trikes.
As you said, each to their own..............

Atleast he hasn't got to worry about the dogs shitting on his carpet when he goes out!!!

All I need to take my little mutt out is a camera bag, he'll fit in that!!

Saw it last weekend at the Quay Vipers do. Both the dogs an' the owners looked very happy indeed. An' the photos don't do the build justice, it really does look even better when you're up next to it.

i used to stuff one little dog i had down me duffelcoat and take it about on my old Daytona 500, he used to love travelling with me, all you could see was his head stuck out of my collar with his ears flapping in the breeze

I reckon its brilliant. If the dogs didnt like it they would'nt be so content to sit there would they.

Good for you guys, you look happy and so do your mutts. enjoy yourselves.

That must be some big dog door you got fella. Are you sure any unwanted persons cant get through it too? Mind you with those two sitting on the other side, I dont think I'd want to try.

If you sit a dog in a car with the window open it will always stick it's head out while you are driving, it's the same as when I was a kid and we had trains that had windows in the doors that you could open, no kid could resist sticking their head out, and that feeling is why we had open top sports cars. We have lost that now with all this health and safety, We still have a few adventurous things for kids to do here in Wales, Caving, Mountaineering, forests to explore, things like the rocking stone, Boating on lakes, Waterfalls to climb around, Horse riding, exploring a coal mine, they even let them climb the town clock once a year. As to the trike, I think it is great, well thought out and good to look at..But what happens when one of the dogs dies, do you buy another dog as an accessory or do you chop off one of the dog sidecars?.....John
