Default camo paint?

hi,just come to a bit of a blank wall time,
have decided id like to have my traily in "camo" but unsure what paint to use n how to apply it,n strangely enuff how to come up with the "shapes" so it dont look too naff.
have played with pc paint but it all looks just bollocks..
any links to pics of bikes with camo schemes greatly appreciated.
thanks.

Photocopy a pair of camo trousers, then draw around the shapes, and use stencils from that...should work in theory...plus remember what you do on pc will always look flat and wrong, need to practice it on an object, like a football or something, to give you a sense of how it may look on the bike.

Camo paint is surprisingly hard to pull off well tbh. Advice youve already been given is best really. Find some camo trousers/jacket/tarpaulin n trace the shapes for templates. Try match it to spraycan colours at your local shop if just using rattle cans. Spray in layers from lightest colours to darkest colours.

Olive drab is the colour of American WW2 and Korean vehicles, also used by Brits later in the war. If you are doing modern camo then you have had the best advice but remember to use MATT paint as gloss camo doesn't work too well.

Obviously army vehicle camouflage is out cos your trike is to small, so we gotta look at Disruptive Pattern Material (uniform camo). The main problem with DPM is that its repeated approx every 63cm, so again we have the size problem. Lots of DPM templates dont reflect the scale your working on either and you end up with large splodges ( not unlike british DPM). The pattern shown here has taken an age to produce but it does allow for joining itself on all sides and produces a repeat of itself. This is a more accurate representation of true DPM. If you open it in microsoft paint and fiddle with the print properties you will be able to produce a larger version for the tank and a smaller version for the frame, Its the pattern i shall be using on my next project.

I believe that if you go onto Milweb you can buy various camo paints already made up. They are sold to Military Vehicle Restorers.....

Or you could try stripey paint and apply it in squigly lines.
