Default Yorkshire Dales pics;

Just had a weekend up int Dales, stopped at green Dragon where your lot went a year or so ago.
Fkin mint it was, had a ride up to Tan Hill, up past Ribblehead Viaduct and popped into a HDRCGB rally to see some old mates.
Pissed it down as i got me bike out at home, thought fuck it, it's only a shower, and i quite like getting drenched then riding through the sun and drying out, so left me full waterproofs, kegs, jacket and overgloves in me pannier. Stopped pissing it down at Hawes....

Dont be bloody silly Dixie, i had to tow yon farmer's tractor to bump start it.
With the trailer on.
Full of rocks.

The blow up beach bikes were at Hawes, are every sat and Sun, there's brilliant roads to the place, and a lil' old bikers caff, get thousands there.
Didn't know who to ignore first....

Thought i might see you up the Lakes do Knuckle, was about 4.0 Sat aft when i arrived, going on 7.0pm when i left.
Went to see the old Rattlers up there, but was good to see a few old faces from when i used to be a HDRCGB member and attend them regularly. Notably Bill,the old graybeard with the white servi-car style evo FLH aint seen him since i called in at Shipley 5 or 6 yrs ago, but don't think we spoke then, musta been 10/11 yrs since we'd had a chinwag.

Taff I was at the I.O.W. rally you get duty frees crossing the water.

I'll do the Lakes next year, can't do them all but I still manage about 12-14 a year. Too many clash now most regions should hold them alternate years.

Plus there was the VMCC's Festival of 1,000 Bikes at Mallory Park all weekend.

Seeing the bridge reminded me of when I was in the mob, I got an Austin Champ stuck in the boggy moors up there in the 60's, and had to get help from a load of potholers to get me out again.

Had to drill a line of holes in the back of the lid, where they didn't show, obviously, and line the boxes with pieces of old carpet glued in.
Was hoping nobody would ask, cos have been told it's cruel. but it ain't at all, they seem to love it.

I've wondered how to transport Jill's two Jack Russels and I thought of something similar with some old Givi panniers. I considered cutting holes for them to poke their heads out off but unfortunately the pannies are side load and not top load so it would be awkward to put them in. They are too big (the dogs) to put them both in one pannier in the top box position, even with two holes cut in to the lid, so we'll just have to use the car when we want to take them out!
