Sky keep ringing me and trying to sell me insurance on my sky tack. I keep telling them I had it more than 12 months so if it should break, i will just cancel it. (then re-order it in the mrs name and get all new **** installed for free).

How stoooooopid do they think I am. bloody 65 quid for insurance, or two phone calls for all new stuff. Do people realy buy this insurance? and why do they have to ring me every two weeks?

This method works, as does my missus' cheeky attitude. Our Sky box broke and we told them to cancel and they gave us a sky plus box for nowt, free fitting too.

I've held out against getting Sky so far, but her ladyship is wanting it, and is tempting me with the prospect of faster Broadband if we get it.

Will pretend to agonise over it, and then tell her no.

I got top-up TV with recordable box, 9.99 a month. Get downloads, got two tuners so you can record another channel while watching another etc.. Pretty happy with it

I just don't get any biking shows.

Never buy inhouse insurance for electronics, just say I already have a policy that covers it. Then shop around for this policy, usualy a couple of quid a month for a pittence for the year.

I just buy cheap stuff, then if it dies I just bin it and buy another one.

My last telly was 85 for 28" and it lasted 8 yrs. When it broke, I got another cheapy from Asda, it works fine. Just had to buy a new microwave, paid 19.99 for the old one and got 5 yrs out of it. Had to spend all of 35 this time though cos her indoors said we HAD to have a silver one
