Aaah, a Teapot.

Minimum, I'd imagine, is about fifteen miles, but it's prolly closer to twenty five ... depends on how brave you are. My Bandit Six will do summat like 35 to completely empty, but I'm a complete coward and try and fill up again as soon as it goes onto reserve.

i've probably only got another 15-20 miles to do on her before Sunday and she's not on reserve yet, so might still have some fuel in her, hey ho, sure i can go the long way home from work either tonight or tomorrow.

strap a coke bottle of petrol to the seat, just in case.. that would probably be enough to get you a few miles in an emergency..

I will do it if it's raining, but you will have to come here, to my place and put your teapot in my garage.

Well! That 5 i stuck in on Monday has done 60 miles which must be a record for my bike! Finally ran out... did it give me any warning? Nope! No coughing, spluttering, rattling, complaining - was going like greased lightning and then all of a sudden cut when i braked coming up to a roundabout in the outside lane of the dual carriageway (in gear of course!). Bunged her on reserve... would she start? Hah no, run me out of petrol will you she says? Fuck you then! Took me ages to get started again, all the time sat pulled into the central reservation!! Is there a magic trick to restarting when you have to go onto reserve? This is only the third time i've ever had to do it.

On most o' the bikes I've owned turning the choke on until the motor catches seems to be the way to go. The problem is that when you run it low, it drags **** from the bottom of the tank through to the tap and it can get blocked. As with most things on bikes, the more you use 'em the better they get so perhaps you ought to run it onto reserve a little more often?

The idea is this time (and this is weather dependent) that I run it as low as possible, then we're going to drain the tank and get rid of the sh1te out of it cos it had a paddy last time i ran it on reserve too.

I didnt know if putting it on prime would help, it didnt seem to make any difference
