Default I have a little hole!

In my exhaust I think! It's down near the joint where the end can meets the downpipes (ish). Basic description would be its at the lowest point of the bike and it'll be where i clobbered it on a speed bump last year.... There is a joint there though, so it might be just a loose joint?

Am I going to need a mortgage?

I'm not really expecting an answer.. just feeling sorry for myself!

stainless or mild steel pipe ?

either can be welded

you'll need to find a friendly chap with a welder / depending how fussy they are you may need to remove the exhaust so they can weld it

last hole my exhaust had was fixed for a drink by me local (then) welder in his lunchtime

Try brazing it.............
Especially IF the material is thin or corroded, welding it will probably cause it become prone to cracking/breaking close to the weld. Also it depends on how much you want it to look pretty. Doing it in situ will depend on whats close to it, faring, belly pan, wiring etc. those flames can cause some interesting damage if the gas axe is wealded in situ

Have you tried to tighten the clamp on the joint? (Presuming that there is one, of course!!)

Ooooooooooh!!! You're a handy sort of chappy to know!

Brazing?

To be honest i'm not sure if its a hole cos i didnt have time to get that close, but there was definitely a stream of exhaust crap coming from near that joint - which could mean the joint is loose???

Pretty? Hahahahaha I think she is long past being pretty!

I can see i'm going to have to go examining her... might go have a closer look at lunchtime if it brightens up a bit and the scooterists have left me enough space to get near her.

Makes a more flexable/malliable repair. As 9/10 time when welding/repairing exhausts, you end up chasing the crack in the exhaust, so a 1" hole ends up being 4" of weld etc

Try splitting the joint 1st, cleaning it up with a wire brush and getting some exhaust paste around the joint, then re-clamping it

Loads of faring in the way of everything!

Removed... no clue, i try to avoid having to take her to bits! I suspect the exhaust is well rusted on tho... she lives outdoors.

if you attempt to take it off, use plenty plus gas release (wd40 is not as good )oil on bolts /clamps first even leave it to soak over night, exhaust clamps have a nasty habit of being siezed and bastards to get off.

And if it is holed, below a fairing a patch or even completed bodge up with a welder will not be seen.
