welcome to the forum

you used to be able to but I think you need a full driving license now

you can ride a scooter with L plates on a full car drivers license and you may be able to ride a trike on a full car license

but I've had my full car and bike licenses since they gave them away with the car...and shortly before they let you drive without the man walking in front with the red flag....

You have to ask for B1 category to be on your licence.

then in small letters f k l n p...A is my Bike but I've got no idea what B1 is..it looks like a caravan...but it could be anything... John

Ok..I've just looked it up B1 is a trike or noddy car....

In Norway we need just a single B to ride a trike legaly.
I thought that was something we had adopted from EU?

Been looking into this one as in the middle of my first build. If you have a full car licence you can ride ANY trike. If you have a bike licence with B1 you can only ride a trike up to 410 or 450 Kg cant remember wich. owt bigger and you need to do your cart test! stupid realy init when you can ride a trike what has full bike controles on a car licence and never riden a bike before inya life. MAD AS CHEESE and twice as salty!!!

I think that's half right, even if your motorcycle licence has B1 from years ago you CANNOT ride a trike, you must have a car licence (or passed a B1 only exam) to ride/drive a trike regardless of weight. Lepers can operate 50cc and 125cc single seaters at the same age as bikes but still need to have aplied for a provisional car license not a bike one.
We've just been through all of this with my sister who lost her lift into work and needed to get on the road quickly. expensive mistakes were made.
