Red face Fao Mad Dog

Hi m8,
I think I owe you an apology. You did come across in your first post as a bit of a knob and I replied to that. To my horror, my post appeared after your second post, which explained better the point you were trying to make and I felt a right twat. I intended to apologise on the same thread and explain my position, which had been pretty much the same same as yours. I had also been the Director of a Limited Company (not self-employed, but a damn site more expensive) and was put out of business by competition employing peeps off the dole and giving them time off to 'sign on'. I lost my business, house, car, wife and kids. It took me 5 years to recover from all that and managed to get on my feet. I suppose the reason I hate bosses so much is the last knob who after my accident decided he was a qualified surgeon and told the company I was not injured and could expect no assistance from the firm. It had been their practice to help injured workers back into work by trying to accomodate their injuries until they were fully fit. One example was a guy who had got drunk and fell through a plate glass window. Fortunately he had not cut himself, but had a huge egg on his head and so could not wear a head shield. They gave him loads of easy work so he could use a hand shield. No problem. I needed to sit and stand for various periods of the shift as my leg was extremely tender to the touch and I got a job to do that allowed this, again no problem. Then this arsehole decided I was malingering and I had to stand for 12 hours a shift or get the sack. I spent months in agony while at work and pissed to kill the pain when at home.

Once again mate I apologise for the unfounded remarks that I made about you and if I had seen your second post, I would not have come on so strong.

Ride free....

Fully understood and fully accepted Senior Ewok.

I really hope things are better for you now.

It doesn't matter if you fail, the important bit is trying.
To try is to live, to get up and dust off is to succeed as a Human Being.

You have my respect for trying, and for taking time to read, understand and for the appology. That takes a real man/woman to do so.

I am a very diplomatic, cool headed person, not given to ranting, and I will do my damdest to correct a wrong by calm explanation and attempting to understand the other person's viewpoint. In the absence of a moderator I had tried to stop what I knew was gonna happen and hoped I knew the difference between when to explain and when to shut up.

I appologise to all if I went a bit far.

Hey MD I have met you, in sad circumstances, made even sadder by our trike, you helped us even though we'd never met before, and because of that you missed the funeral ride along the beach road. We were and always will be forever grateful for that. It shows what sort of person you really are, especially when I've seen how you have handled other events recently. I have a lot of respect for you. That sort of thing will make me stick up for you no matter what, even if i don't agree with something you say or do I will still always think of cookie and remember what is inside your heart. I am not swayed by what people say, or what other people think. Actions speak louder than words.

Some people I haven't met but I have formed opinions about them because of their posts, I've seen how other folk have treated them because of their posts. I might change my mind about folk when I meet them in person, but usually I end up liking them more.

On all the forums we've been on there's only 3 people who I've met that I would go out of my way to avoid, and they are not particularly controversial in their posts, just pains in the ass.

There are 2 people who I haven't met and don't want to meet cos I find their posts distasteful. I might like these 2 in real life but I will wait and see.

All of the above are girls btw.

(and none of em are regulars here so Mrs R you can relax now lol. Seriously hinny, you are a mega wonderful gal like everyone else on here).

I just like this place cos folk are happier and more given to smiles than scowls.

see....

May I nominate Sir Ewok for Top Splendid Chap Of The Day?

(The honour comes with a sparkly tiara which no doubt by 3pm he will have copied and have for sale in a variety of colours in his Magnificient Emporium).

Gypsey is a good man and a very lucky fella,

(as is Mitch)

I can still remember how tired and sweaty Gypsey was from steering that trike all the way down to Wiltshire, but we kept you in our mirrors coz we knew you didn't know the route, and the trike had been troublesome.

This is turning into an excellent group hug,
any more girls wanna join in?

So you'd best get in the middle of this little group thing before Gollum shows up.
