Default Dead bike thief?

A 16 year old with a 15 year old on a 750? A bit dodgy there. Oh well, they won't do it again.

Oh dear, what a shame...two stupid chavs who couldn't keep their sticky fingers to themselves...now police are interviewing the owner of the bike...probably charge him with manslaughter for owning a bike that kids could steal...and now the statistics will show that two more bikers have died through careless riding.... Whoah there everyone, before you starting getting all self-righteous and abusive...

In none of the reports does it say the two boys had stolen the bike. It does say the owner has been traced and 'are investigating how a 16-year-old came to be riding it'. Rightly or wrongly, I rode bikes (including those of mates) before I was 17, and there's a possibility that the owner might have let the kids have a go (more fool him, but there you go).

Just have the full facts before you all go off frothing at the mouth.

As far as I'm concerned if they were riding the bike at that age its their own problem. Regardless of whether someone let them or not they are clearly from the bottom of the genepool if they're stupid enough to ride a bike on the road, especially one that size.

And for the record, no, I never rode/drove on the public highway without a licence or underage etc etc.

Just read this and it would seem the bike belonged to his dad who was away in Tenerife and his mum was away in York.
Probably thought he'd just borrow it for a laugh. Still, live and learn. Oh no, not an option for them now.
Bottom line: It wasn't his, he took it, smashed it up and died for it.

Agree with that bottom line, but I still feel the words 'thieving scum', 'stupid chavs' and 'fukkers' were unnecessary when people didn't know the whole story. If that report is right, yeah they were stupid to borrow one of their dad's bike, but I reckon his parents are going to be feeling bad enough as it is without having people who know nothing about the circumstances or them or their sons sit in judgement on their boys and sum them up as 'scum' and 'fukkers'.

Sorry, don't matter if it was his dads or someone elses, he stole it.

I rode illegally for years, was riding on the roads at 11. But I bought my bikes and rebuilt them, never stole them.

I got done for no tax no insurance no mot unlawful pillion defective lights and brakes failing to stop no less than 6 times before I was 16

when I finally turned 16 I was banned from obtaining a driving licence for the above convictions ....

oooooh me miss spent yooof .....

is not the same as these lads ... but I lived in squats and on the streets lived hand to mouth when I was 12 > 17 .... "theiving scum" sometimes JUST SOMETIMES have a need to be just that ....

and this bit really wont be very popular comment ..... do ANY OF US ask where the "set of forks" came from @ the breakers? ... they're 80 mate with callipers, master cyl and wheel ... .DONE AND DONE AND DONE!
no questions asked right? - cheap part! ... lovely!!!!!!

Stolen bikes are as often stripped and sold on ebay / breakers as they are changed to ride about on / track etc....

not the most popular thing I've written #I am sure ....

I generally only buy new parts. Only ever bought second hand parts from the suzuki dealership which breaks bikes, except the brake parts which i got off evilbay recently because there was no way i could afford new and the breakers didnt have any.

Maybe, or maybe its genuine - I certainly avoid buying parts from places I don't know though, for that reason.

Mines got data tagging all over it - no idea what it means, and now i come to think about it... i probably ought to tell data tag i moved... oops!

yeah .. Yamaha CON datatag is .....supposedly you have microchips fitted in the seat and various other parts of bike that can be scanned by police to identify YOUR part .... but its utter sh1te ...

been stopped more times than you can shake a stick at ..not ONE copper has a scanner .. not ONE copper knows anything about it ....

complete and utter con ...

and wasn't really aiming the buying of stolen parts at you or anyone in partic, but am saying when ya bike is smashed its mid summer and you want back on the road ...do any of us really ask the question? or do we get the bike back on the road for as cheap as possible and enjoy the summer ???

ps - I re-built one of my bikes 3 times after major crashes, and built with genuine yamaha parts ... the bike we worked out in the end cost me over 17K !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If these two clowns had run a pedestrian down on their way to killing themselves would the bleeding hearts still be giving them 'tributes' and feeling sorry for them?I think not.......
Still,they won't do it again.

well with more facts I can picture a different scene...son grows up with bike mechanic father, passing spanners, later, changing brake shoes, by the time he's sixteen he can do an engine rebuild, biking is in his blood..he rides a few 50cc scooters but always lusts after a bigger bike..It was almost inevitable that if his mum and dad left him alone at that age that he would take the bike out...at sixteen my kids would have come on holiday with me or I wouldn't have gone...And nothing has been said about the 15 year old...not all cut and dried after all...I wish I hadn't posted on the subject in the first place...John

One moment of stupidity cost two young lads their lives, it's totally heartbreaking for their parents and my thoughts are with them right now.

When I was a kid my dad had bikes and i would always help him fix them and his cars. When i was sixteen i wanted nothing more than to be on the road on a big bike. The difference being i knew the risks of jumping onto a bike that was too powerful for me and also the amount of **** I would get in and my dad would get in if i even tried it. If the dumbarse had any sense or respect he would have left it well alone. Got all he deserved.
