I thought that was a tow car -towing a racer to the start line -but he was running it down the strip. Chevy engined I think. 14 second quarter mile. No match for Firestorm's 250mph runs, but not bad for an old Landy. -I notice he folded the mirrors in to be extra aerodynamic!

Nice one Mr M.

I headed down to Santa Pod at the weekend. No cars tho. Must keep an eye on custom car, see when the shows are. I know of the London Chop and Rod Show but dont think we can make the date.

First & last of your faves are Chevy. '56 I think. You never seen American Grafitti? Harrison Ford drove a '55. Crashed & burned -literally, while racing against John Milner's lil' yellow coupe.
Check my film review section for the write up on "Two-Lane Blacktop". Movie trivia number 1- The black Chevy in Graffiti also starred as the grey primered racer in Two Lane, plus, Movie Trivia number 2- one of the 3 primered Chevys used for the film also provided the engine sounds for Burt Reynolds' Trans Am in Smokey & the bandit. Yeah, I know, I'm a nerd. Irritating ain't it!
By the way, the black Zephyr with red roof belongs to my mate Richard. He's a lecturer in the motor mechanics bit of the local tech college. Runs the standard straight 6 Ford motor I think. Wish I'd had cool lecturers when I was at college!

Missy Minx, shame you & Jester can't make the Chop & Rod. Don't know if I'll have my Honda sorted by then. If not, I'll be in the scruffy old Fiesta van. I'll take lots of piccies, promise! I'm told I'm going to the Crondall Rock 'n' Roll club that evening, then the Ace Cafe on Sunday, so looks like I'll be a busy Monkey this weekend.
Your very good self & Mr Jester at last year's Chop & Rod.

Well, I didn't expect you to have warning lights which is surprisingly tolerant of you!

Built by the splendid Pete at Chops 'n' Bobbers.

It looked just as nice when we featured it in BSH264.

I've got a feeling they sell it at the Ace too if you're in the area, or via their website.

Tinypic.com seems really slow at the moment.
This one? It was at the drags at the weekend. Rover V8 engined fibreglass '32 coupe. Belonged to the bass player with one of the bands at last year's Chop & Rod, possibly The Surfing Gorillas. Nice guy. It's on the Homepage of my website. The headlining inside the car is covered with photos of 50s pin up girls. It's actually quite tatty close up but I think that's what makes it so cool!

I'll ask for a sit next time I see it. Really tall guy who owns it too isnt he!

Yeah, lanky guy with a quiff. Completely forgotten his name.
The roof chop makes it pretty claustrophobic inside.
Yodie Photoshopped my MMMotors logo onto the door for my Homepage. The owner was quite happy for him to alter it -even when Yoda said he was going to "paint" it pink!

Some of those a bit too polished, easyriders type shots, right place right time stuff but I do really like this
