i hate spiders especially the big ones it freaks me out was clearing out my lock up one day when a big brown/black hairy one landed on the back off my hand it was going to bite as it had its front legs up i though no way pal knocked it to the ground and sprayed it with the first thing that came to hand which was carb/brake cleaner the thing was still alive after 5mins so i stood on it cruel i know but think how the eat the bite then liquidfie the innards

I can recommend Indorex flea spray - kills all manner of bugs and beasties including spiders, and I *think* the beasties I have an infestation of.

I once sprayed a house with it before I moved in, and all the spiders were laid on their backs with their legs in the air the next morning!!!

I get it on prescription from the vets but there might be another way of getting it.

Default spiders

The reason women don't like spiders is because they are taught to be frightened by them..whereas boys are taught that if you have a magnifying glass on a hot sunny day great big spiders go pop while they are sitting in the middle of their webs, and when a man gets his gas blowlamp out of the shed or garage, you just know he's hoping a great big spider will run out for him to try it out on, even the webs in the corners are fair game..now if only you girls started spending a few pleasant sunny afternoons in the garden with a magnifying glass, or took up paint stripping...I just know the next post is going to quote and remove the word paint! anything with 4 legs or less, no problem, snakes, lizards and all manner of rodents (well the babies need food) but 6 legs or more, forget it, calls for pint pot and cardboard unless of couse the cat gets there first or he happens to be about.....he's taller than me and can reach the really big hairy ones that hide in corners, you know, the ones wearing docs and muscles vests!

there is one exception.....

He lives in the garage, AND IS HUGE!!! and I am not allowed to evict him, but as the bloody thing only comes out when I'm not there (paddington hard stares work on spiders too!) I just ignore the web and feign excuses for not going in the tool box at night

I love spiders have a houseful at the moment, and in the garden have some great webs with orb spiders on. Toad hates them. I was bought up not to be scared of them, and to put them out in the garden nicely. I see Dougie is conspicious by his absence on this thread.. he can find some nice beasties....

I generally don't mind them, but this one was taking up so much floor space i should charge it rent, and it had a BAD attitude!!!!!!

I love spiders. Used to have 300 tarantulas in the house. But now have no friends as they were all scared to come round.
