Ok help me out here please, My GT750 does 60mph at 5k revs and 70mph at 6k revs, in top gear.. what does yours do? I've got a standard bike with no fairing, so if you've got a fairing please say so. Thanks John.

You need to talk to Mitch, as I think he has one.

Bit confused as to what you want here John, its a shaft drive bike and the gear ratios will be the same in everybike, the only way to change the rev/speed ratio is to
a) change the gearing (gearbox)
b) change the shaft gearing (never heard of that being done)
c) rear wheel size.
So everyone who has one (allow for rev/speedo error) will be the same.

Default Gt750

Sorry pyro. Don't want to change anything, I think I may have a sticky valve, so I just want to know what the normal mph/revs in top gear is in order to find if mine is up to scratch. It seems to me that 5000revs should give more speed in top gear than 60mph...And if the top speed is 127mph as stated in the specs that has to be at 8500revs which makes me think something might be knakkered!John

Hi John,
Bike off road at the mo---I let insurance go and now tax is out because I am just not using it. I thought that I would post this just in case you thought I was too idle to check that out for you.

Both me and Mrs R.

hers has the same problem, but hers is down to crap jetting to account for the straight through pipes that it had on before we bought it. We need to take it to a dyno near us once the starter clutch is sorted out.

Anyhooooo, at 6k, it should do 80-85 (6k's what I see as cruising revs - as in the speed it should do easily without blowing its top).

Ok thanks Mitch Thats more or less what I wanted, allowing that yours has been customised and mine is original, my carbs are perfect, but I have a compression imbalance on one cylinder, I reckon I've either got a carbed up valve which I may be able to clean up with redex or I've got to take the head off and regrind the valves, decoke the heads, replace the rings and check the cam follower shims, or just see if it will outlast me if I don't take it over 6k revs! John

That was as standard mate, as I no longer have a rev counter, also, I'm still using standard the airbox
