Default must get stiffer

can anyone help me make it stiffer?the leafs on my reliant that is(pervs) .I is having trouble bottoming on the rear diff and my only guess is the changing of the dampers to bike shocks with springs!
anyone?

how meny leaf,s on the spring we used to split the leaf springs and plastic slithers and rubber in between the leaf springs then use new longer u clamp bolts to tighten them the gether know a guy that put the leaf springs ontop o the axel rather than the bottom but hay that was in the dark ages

fitting coilover type shocks seems the easiest way around it.
but the damping may be to little for both the leaf and coil spring together
