Scary this morning, roads looked fine from the house, and where until I hit the mountain road, little patches of ice scattered close to bends, had a bit of a slide that brought a lump to my throat and made my heart skip a beat, nearly went back home to get the van and would have done if I was'nt so late. I hope the ride homes a bit better, had a bit of a snowy blizzard up there on the way home last night that was my first and hopefully my last ride in the snow, I'll take more notice of the weather warnings in future.

Ride in all weather's except snow and bad ice; salt's not a prob, just wash the fecker off when you get home.

Use the car for work (it's so close the bike wouldn't get warmed up) and for when I need to carry stuff that won't fit on the bike.

Nik, good to see you back online mate, how did the op go?

Bloody painfully, mate, bloody painfully ... was in recovery for about five hours and it feckin' hurt.

Got a real deep bone ache now that pain-killers don't seem to be having much effect on and, worst of all, can't have a shower until they look at/change me dressing so I smell awful too ...

I take the bike out every chance I get although that's nowhere near as often as I'd like-I work a long way from home and can't take the bike with me
I will confess that I don't ride in snow,my Blade might not have cost much in terms of money but it took a year of my spare time sorting it to get it on the road and looking good and there's just too much chance that it would go sliding down the road.

Well I voted 'all the time' cos I was out on the trike the other day.....

But I'm pretty limited now cos my funny leg don't like the cold.

Trike don't seem to like the cold either - every time I been out on it since about September it's broken down one way or another, it might be finding a new home soon at that rate!

So it's a good job I got a car and I mostly use that atm!

And as soon as I'm up and about again, I'm finally going to learn to drive so that riding will become a pastime rather than a neccesity.

Wouldn't you be better off learning to ride without falling off? It's a lot cheaper (except, of course, when you don't own the bike you fall off!), and a lot less painful!

I take it by all the time you mean all year round In which case Yep.
If on the other hand all the time means only mode of transport then Nope, I have use of a van.

All year round, the bike is my only transport and i built it to use in all weathers hence stainless steel and cheap paint

all year unless it's broke, I only use the car when taking the missus anywhere as she can't ride anymore due to bad back.

All year round, but not every day.
Walk to work, often work overtime, so not much time to ride during the week.
Tend to use the car if we're going out in very cold weather, cuz if BL gets cold, it throws her blood chemistry out, and can take two days to warm her up again.
Have used the trike a lot this winter, but will still use the bike for longer distance rides.

I had to go get some parts for the bike earlier.Normally I get the right hump when I see everyone else on bikes down the shop and I'm in my car but today as it was down to freezing point I felt pretty good jumping into the trusty Volvo and switching on the seat heater

*grabs coat and runs..........fast*

oh the shame have not ridden my bike since august, due to lack of funds for new tyres.
have a car , would not if it was not for Shaz. also my work is half a mile away , my bike is kept a mile away in the other direction.
so i guess im a leasure rider, hangs head in shame

mind you had 9 years on bikes before i got my first car, ice ,snow rain 52 weeks a year, will not ride in snow and ice now.

Had to vote summer only (though season is a bit longer). Too much physical damage and a bike that is older than me (Now 66 years old and still going). The bike is 66, not me!

Never ride as much as I would like but cant go longer than 3 weeks without a fix. Always keep something on the road all year round - this year its a wee gix. Pleasantly suprised at the 750M motor though.

Ride for a living 35-40000 miles a year, all weathers except snow, then I'll take the trike out. Got a car as well though.
