Default my budget trike :)

bike trike, built out of bits that fall from passing skips and or foundvery cheaply

total cost so far 232

please excuse the awful looking surface rust, it comes off with a wire brush or wire wool but looks really bad in the photos

engines a real gem, only 10k miles, US import

still a fair bit to do, the axle on there is a spare, the proper one being cleaned and painted ready for new brakes etc

got all the paint for the bodywork, and got enough tubing to finsh it off

target is to have it on the road for less than 500, I expect to do it for about 400 to be honest, MSVA 80, Tax 40?? plus the 232 spent so far 352, so 400 is possible but maybe a bit tight

Just need tube and axel and a couple of weeks spare

The rarest of all commodities-spare time.

forgot about this thread, more pics to come soon

I do try to do things on a budget, but like to prove that not all budget builds equate matt black and bodged

all a matter of priorities, still in the middle of a house sale etc so time is currently the biggest problem

but the frame is now finished, tearing it down in the next week for final welding, then time to work out frame coating options, either going to just hammerite it, or might try and afford powder or plastic coat etc

paint is decided and sorted for tank and guards

got a pair of tyres for free, just need to pay to get them fitted and balanced

biggest stumbling block at the moment is the exhaust, the front pipes are double skin and in many places they rotted through, not blowing but look really nasty, but they will have to do for now, front pipes for these seem to be very expensive

oh and the total build bill is 248 so far as I bought all LED bulb replacements for the arse end, being hardtail the bulbs wont last long

make some new down pipes.................lay old ones on a bit of white hard board draw round then, then use pre formed bends trimmed up to fit between the lines, and tack em up..........bend are about a fiver each.

, cheers, made many systems but the problem is that the tubing is a bit odd size on this bike, all my bends etc are 1.5" but this wont fit into the exhaust port, needs to be about 1.25" tubing and then with the bent back flange it will fit, yamaha seem to have done wierd things with these pipes, theres no top hat outwards flange, its an inwards wierd collar arrangement

will sort it somehow but for now they not blowing so they will do the job
