Rode over to Mudeford Quay for the bike and classic car meet and to meet up with some friend - there and back 50 miles, furthest I've done since my little episode back in January, and I felt every one of them as there was a vicious wind that seemed to be a head wind whichever way you turned!

Good to be out and about on a sunny day!

Do you use a bag? I refused the bag as the Velcro irritates my leg and makes it very sore. I had a tap, which is great as long as you don't forget to turn it off or accidentally knock it on......wet trouser time.
Never a good thing, so hope you have it out soon.

I use the lot, big bag for night, leg bag for rides, tap sometimes.

It's not coming out until someone chops bits of me off.

John.

Good luck with that, hope it's nothing too important that they are chopping off.

Had an eye test today. Going to get the other one tested next month! 30 squids for an eye test! Result need new lenses! There's a surprise, Reading lenses a cool 110!! and Distance jobbies with photochromatic lenses an mere 190!!!! Oh and they wanted to charge me 20 per frame glazing, just because I wanted to use a decent pair of frames that I am already using!

So I politely told them I could get a pot of putty from home base and do them myself! And could I have the prescription?

Is this the health problems thread? - sorry I can't quite see.......

I'm currently wired up to a 24 hour (less really) blood pressure monitor and so far. despite stair climbing and stuff, it's showing exactly what I expected - NO high blood pressure - in spite of the fact that I've had two high readings at hospital vists. Thank goodness - I really DON'T want any more pills to take! (they don't give you pills for LOW BP do they? Just had one that was only 112.....)

Hardly surprising the readings were high really - a rush to get to Poole, traffic to deal with, queueing for car park, long walk from car park to hospital, poor signage in hospital meaning it's hard to find the right place, then talking to nurse or consultant for half an hour before the BP reading......

Glad they'll be working on correct info now - modern technology is good innit?

Roll on the echocardiogram, my next treat at the end of the month........

Every damn time I go to the hospital it involves an 18 miles worth of petrol for the car plus the cost of parking - I'm an OAP, I can't really afford to be ill!

No it's an OAP thread, about people who are past it. harry was boasting about a young girl that he couldn't even see who was sitting right next to him. Friar Tuck was boasting that even after spending a fortune on furniture he still had 330 to waste on reading glasses that he could have got at the 1 shop You are moaning about young people blocking the roads to the hospital, and I just like upsetting everyone..

John.

well I've had an exciting weekend. Saturday was spent in Argos buying a new TV then on the way home got stuck behind a motorhome that decided to overtake a cyclist, who in turn decided to have an epileptic fit, so spent the next hour arranging an ambulance etc, to make sure the poor blighter was ok and carted off to the Naarfuck & Naarwich A&E.

Then Sunday we (her) spots a bloody wood pigeon in the garden with a twig or summat lodge in it's gullet so me spent the rest of the day trying to catch the fucker in my landing net! Eventually the missus calls the RSPCA, who sends an inspector over, and the pigeon promptly does a flyer! Only to return the inspector buggers off. By this time the twig has got dislodged, but the pigeon still seems to not be able to close its beak, but seems to be able to shovel the bird seed in well enough! If it returns the Landing net is on standby!

It's all go here!
