Default Sponsership

In 2008 im going to be riding round the uk on 125cc Motorbike in aid of nabd.
Over the past 5yrs Ive help raise around 25.000.00 for different charities.I usally advertise local company's on my jacket & bike. But as I will be riding round the uk on A/B roads & venturing though many towns/cities/villages,Im opening this up to company's round the uk.( you dont even have to be bike related.)
What im looking for is help with fuel/accomadation.The accomadation is for 3xmales ( me & 2x surport team ).
In return we will put badges on my jacket/stickers on surport vechile.
which will be seen by any press we do or television interveiws. We will also link any companies on my web site who help us.
see looney rider for imfo of past rides.
Thank you for taking time to read this.

Leave him alone, he's either trying his best, or simply can't spell, no shame in that, some people can't learn some things no matter how hard they try...with me its plastering...lots of us on here can't spell... John

spellcheckers ?

he's hardly creating a good impression - surely if he's after something, work, money, whatever, he could at least be arsed to make a decent job of it

His spelling isn't going to get him round Britain so give the guy a break.

Taking the piss out of someones diction is poorly disguised bullying and I hate bullies.

bullying - not my intention, and sincere apologies for hurt feelings - but if he presents his case a bit better he might get some decent sponsorship

Regardless of anyones ability in the spelling department, I reckon we should support Madrider in his Round Britain Challenge.

I will pledge 10 and wish Madrider a safe journey.

Ok you guys so you picked up spelling mistakes. But it means you read it ,So it works.I do make mistakes sometimes on spelling but ive always been that way & try my best to get it right.
The fact that ive help raise around 25.000.00 for different charities over the 5yrs ive been doing these rides must mean im doing something right...& getting charities better known..
The fact is im dyslexic & usally get my partner to check everything I write.linda was out on that day so I went for it & got it wrong!!.
But im still after sponsors if you know anyone who maybe intrested.
The anchor Inn at Friskney have offered accom on nite of 11th july 08 with bike meeting also & collection for nabd & I thank them very much.Be good to meet up with fellow bikers. If your that way pop in.
Ride Safe Ride with Pride.

a 1 rider team with 2 backups! its hardly long way round. this guy, http://www.johndaychallenge.co.uk/
did it cmpletely unsupported on a honda camino pedal start moped, no support crew and no one but himself to sort it out. 5000 miles round the coastline of the uk, in the wettest summer for years. and he isnt a young bloke either.
if you are serious about it then you need more than good intentions. you need to present yourself properly and for want of a better phrase, sell yourself properly. never a day goes by without some charitable organisation wanting some of our money. if you want some too, you need more than a good idea im afraid. you need some kind of publicity generator. 125? why not do it on a ped. hell, do it on a ridiculous ped like a velosolex, and even i'll chuck you a tenner. but doing it on a 125 isnt exactly a challenge. i recon thaat at a push, you could do the outside of britain on a modern 125 in under a week.

I did the corners of the country - Lands End, Lizard, Lowestoft, John O Groats, Cape Wrath, Ardnamurchan, St Davids Head - in eight days in 1981 on an MZ150.

And that was a holiday...

Let's not put madrider off..fair play to him or her 25k is not to be sneezed at, and although some people may not be over impressed at the trip or the bike, we must all be impressed at the money raised...As someone else said everyone wants us to give money so it's really down to the individual whether they want to give to a cause or not and whether they may rather give direct to the cause with a note to say you were inspired to give by madriders effort...So let's not knock the guy...Just do whatever you want to do....PS I am not asking for sponsorship on my ride round wales next year, I'm doing it for me...HOWEVER...I will be stopping at a few of your houses for a cup of tea or coffee... John

Lest be fair, 90% of the posters here wouldn't be seen dead riding a 125 to the local shops let alone around the UK, fair play to the bloke.

im not trying to put anyone off. its just that if i want to give money to nabd, then i would just do it, not as sponsorship on what seems like a bloody good holiday for someone. however, if someone was to post that they were doing something really challengine, like the guy on the 25 year old camino, then i would almost certainly support them, as i did in fact.

seems a fairly sensible attitude to me...After all we have just heard about Paul Hillock and the MRA..Paul looks like a perfectly honest 70 year old man, someone you could trust...so perhaps it is best to donate directly to the cause...However if people like Madrider didn't draw these good causes to our attention we might spend what little we can afford on one of the other many 'good causes'...Floods in Britain...floods in Bangladash, eathquakes, fires in California, orphan children, displaced persons, disabled and old people, war victims, starving Africans, local hospitals, school books....when it comes right down to it, there should be plenty of spare cash in the treasury to pay for all these things..and it isn't called the treasury for nothing...we are all going to be hard up this year because of the petrol tax 55p per liter plus 17p per litre vat...thats 72p out of every 1...eveything we buy has to be transported about 200 miles across the country to get to our local shop so now milk, bread, butter, flour and almost everything else costs more...we just need a mortgage hike and that will finish another generation...John

My GT is a bit like that...I'd probably fail the driving test on the u-turn without putting your foot down...I suppose I should practice it...but it's something I have never needed to do... John
