These are the training ration packs designed for training only not operational use as they require more water that is not always available on operations. they were only around for a couple of years as they werent well received by the troops, but they are alright.

They dont taste too bad just require more water than a soldier can reasonably carry on his back. They are a bit like the old arctic ration packs if you have ever had those. put plenty of tobasco in them antd you wont taste it better than rally burgers any day of the week and a hell of a lot cheaper!

Composite rations are food issued to soldiers whilst on exercise or operations when they are away from field kitchens etc.

Aaaarrgh!Foul things!I remember that compo cheese (Cheese, posessed, haven't heard that in years!) was an off-putting pale green colour, and didn't really taste of much.It was always a good day on exercise when we got "Fresh".Drove the cookhouse wagon a few times, hated it,next to no sleep for three weeks.

hmm now if you pierced the tin and threw it on the hexy burner instant napalm or smear it all over a trip flare again instant napalm that cheese was bloody dangerous,

love the white biscuits, fave was the oatmeal blocks fookin love em, but never worked out what the 1 gallon tea bag was all about, used to use em when baccy was short take compo bog roll add a few damp tea leaves instant smoke

remember the lemonade crystals from the 10 man rat packs, but those chicken sausages used to make me puke
