Thanks anyway m8, only 2 problems: I think Viragos are as ugly as a box of frogs (despite the fact that one seems clean), especially the 535s, and I don't think you clocked my location.

This is what can be achieved with a Dragstar:

Something about the lines are just right, even though if you look closely its a softtail. Only downsides I can see are drum rear brake, and a slight lack of power, but it'll be the missus' bike, and she's getting back into it after 9yrs almost of not riding, so no big worries.

I think the Dragstar 1100 is one of the easiest bikes to ride, good looking too. I'm not so sure about the 650..

John.

Default My 2 cents worth (which isnt actually even worth 2 cents!!)

Ridden a 650 and owned a Virago 535, got shot of the 535 after 3 months, in my opinion the virago is too small (not engine size, actual size) and has very little range because of the small petrol tank, nice looks, just felt it could've done with being 10% bigger, loved the Dragstar, only thing I found with it was that going round corners you could end up dragging the pegs rather easily, I know this post isnt meant to be a Virago vs Dragstar post but thought I'd chuck my unwanted opinion in anyway!!

So I went to look at one today. Piece of piss to ride and weight low down, should be no probs for the missus. This particular example despite having only 8000kms on it, had been neglected and left to rot; the owner still wanted top dollar for it though, feckin joker. Still at least I know what they ride like now.

Nevermind got 2 more examples to go and look at during the wk, one of which is the classic model.
