The previous haulage contractor must be laughing their bollocks off

Wonder if the buyer who decided to switch has still got a job.

DHL have cocked the contract up but they'll still have it when it all calms down.

Yep. Just in time or as we used to call it 'Just too late'. DHL will keep the contract because it is too expensive to start negotiations with another company and set up the systems needed, thus, however crap you are you very rarely get then push. Works differently for employees though as there are a dozen people who will do your job and for less money.... supply and demand, don'cha know.

I dont know about that, when I was QHSE Manager for Alexander Denis warehousing, distribution and logistics, we switched from Tufnells to Aspray, all done in the space of three months.

DHL has been storing all KFC chicken at an unregistered cold-storage facility in Rugby.

The storage depot at the centre of the KFC chicken crisis had not been registered or inspected before problems emerged this week, and could have been closed down for breaching safety rules, a local council has revealed.

KFC said some poultry at the depot would have to be destroyed.

Read the full article here in The Guardian
They probably knew what it was going to be but if it is supposed to be registered and expected before use they would quite reasonably assume that it wasn't opened yet.

Seems a very major error for a company the size of DHL to make

My local Wetherspoons posted on FB last night, promoting their chicken night, I replied stating that it’s dhl who delivers it to them

I hear that in Africa they've started a "Just Giving" page for those affected in the UK by the kfc food shortage.

One of our local kfc, s is very bad. Don't know why it hasn't been shut down yet. The attitudes on the staff serve as a warning.
