Default greenpeace and the japanese whaling fleet

at this very moment, the japanese whaling fleet are attempting to kill hundreds of whales this season, for "research" meaning in real terms, whale meat for the japanese home market. greenpeace have two ships shaddowing the whalers, the esperanza, and the arctic sunrise, after searching for the whalers for many weeks, they tracked them down to inside the international whale reserve in the southern ocean, and have set about catalogueing the hunting, and photographing it to let the outside world know what, after all the treaties and promises, the japanese are still doing. the weblogs of members of the crew of the greenpeace ships are here, and make an interesting read http://weblog.greenpeace.org/
and the greeenpeace site containing footage of greenpeaces actions to frustrate the whalers is here, http://www.greenpeace.org.uk/
its a grulesome read in places, with some distressing pics of the hunt and killing of the whales in this so called "sanctuary" so far, the whalers have deliberately rammed one greenpeace ship with a whaling ship, to try an intimidate the crew, and these ae ships we are talking about here, not rowing boats. fortunately no one was hurt and no damage was done, but the whole episode was captured on video, from the greenpeace helicopter that was documenting the hunt, that footage is also on the gp website.
not going to make any more comment than that at the mo, have a look and form your own oppinion
