Default royal oak

whos going up the royal oak broad lane tonight. well ishould be there at 8:30 depending on bike. theres a few roads she doesnt like going down. but its worth it. the pubs great, and they got a real fire where you can actualy smell your leathers burn on to your legs.
while im here. did any body used to drink up the Fox and Goose great bridge in the black country area in the late 70s early 80s.
right im going out see how many nuts and bolts i forgot to put on the bike.

dont know if you remember niel (feaces) he used to do the mag up there and the d j ing.
well i was the young boy who used to be there every week.
i remember that back yard would be full of bikes. mainly chops. i realy miss them days. and the atmosphere.

Gerroff - the Fox and Goose is in Greets Green - or it was about half an hour ago when I came past.
Yep - I was one of the folks who used to drink there. . . . then moved just up the road to the George, where our club met for 12 years. I very rarely see any of the old faces { the MAG lot } from the Fox and Goose - maybe I'll see the odd one every two or three years.

oh thats it yeah. well i wasnt far off. i still see some of them. wouldnt mind seeing bones and scratch. see neil alot. i was up there a few months back. couldnt believe how small the pub was( i was very young last time i went up).

I bet you know Kel then Krammer, as in kel & kerry

and i think a few drink in the Stone Cross and started the stone cross mcc a few years ago, then i heard they started using the Globe by the hospital

never went in the fox, i was a horseshoes regular
then the crown and the vic in dudley, ahhhhhhh they was the days
were the fek are they all these days

unfortunatlee i drink with scratch every weekend
hes now a grumpy old bas tard with only one tooth left and calls everybody HOUND
still rides that bloody 535 though (and when he ain`t lookin i`m gonna weld some baffles on it)

he will also be at The Mad March Hare rally, and he had better not forget my ticket again

it's been a long time phil but i would probably recognise a few from back then. the vic? yep, used to drink in there and the grange in rowley (now gone) bogarts in brum (now a fuckin' office block) the eagle (also gone) do you detect some sort of patter developing here

yep we`ve probly meet more than a few times and ignored each other
i live about a mile up from the grange, now its a block of new rabbit hutches

doubt you remember. my mom used to drink in bogarts and the eagle. judy her name was.( died in 88) shes in the pic, if i get this right.

she looks like she was a lovely lady and she could'nt have been very old when she passed away poor woman. i am not given to dewey eyed sentimentality but the fact is bogarts was much more than a pub, it was an advice centre, music venue,it was an oasis of noise and smoke and general bawdiness but not a lot of grief. the bier keller underneath was a totally different kettle of fish however............

she was 34 when she died in 88. due to being young at the time i only got to hear stories of those days but didnt realy understand them until i got older. every now and then i bump into her friends who tell me bits and peices of her life...
