Default Electronic tacho?

I am thinking of fitting a cheap electronic tacho to my Trident, it has a Lucas Rita ignition system which is wasted spark, so i would presume the the trigger wire would just attach to the trigger/low tension side of a coil, but what i am wondering is could the Rita system be affected by doing this?
And before its suggested the original tacho drive internals have been removed so would require an engine strip to replace.

I can't help with your actual enquiry but one more thing to look out for is the accuracy of the tachometer.

With wasted spark you may get a reading double what the engine is doing.

Wotcha.

I run a Smiths electric tacho on my A65 which also has Boyer ignition. It works with no problem. The wasted spark won't be a problem either as the tachos can be set for up to twelve cylinders.
