I just sold mine which was a tatty 1973 gold one that I had used as a winter hack for a few years. 40k miles original pistons only 1 set of rings and several decokes (bought it from brother in law who had had it since 75). I t needed lots of running gear/cosmetic work that i didn't have time/inclination for as it had become dangerous to ride (last time I rode it the rear brake pedal locked under exhaust as the pivot point in the pressed steel frame had gone banana shaped). Still got 250 for it from the local bike shop manager plus an express MOT for my 125.

You won't get a pre-resriction fs1-e that is easily fixed up for a 16 year old for sensible money anymore.

Better of asking around every friend with bikes (or had teenage children in early 80's with bikes) and see what is lurking in the sheds garages.

Hey it's worth putting up with the p*sstaking of getting a c50 for a year, they are frugal and if early enough capable of over 40mph.

chopper ..if you have never ridden before a scooter is twist and go...this chopper probably won't last five minutes..but to a 15 year old it probably looks cool...I don't know anything about the seller though!...John

No forget it it's too small...only about 4ft long...I'm no good with these new metric measurements...

Sachs Madass 50. I think it don't look too sad for newbie's bike. Engine based on the Honda 50, made in Germany. Have a look on fleabay to see what they look like. They do a 125 version as well.

After a couple of year sugguesting it I finaly convinced the wife to concider taking up two wheels. Mainly because moving and looking for jobs has thrown up the problem of not having any vehicle licence what so ever...

So a 50cc moped will be a good start.

Not sure about that, seat height is 50cm and the wheel base is a little longer than twice the seat height.

Total dimentions:

3. Product Size 1450 x 760 x 760mm

fantastic . i had the zr50 custom. what a bludy bike. i felt like part of the biker comunity on that. many people would come and look at it on the rallies. did loades of rallies on it too. bulldog, snow mans, magna carta, FARMYARD (it carried me and a guy called furgus up and down that track all night). its a bit like the gn125 i think it was. what a toy that was. pride.

Think she`d be better off with the Magna 50.At least she`d be getting Mr Hirohito`s reliabilty and spares availability.Must be a cheap one in a breakers some where?

Thinking about it, I know someone with an import 50cc in their garage who might be up for selling it. It's an RG50 Suzuki and it's quite sporty-looking - comes with a full fairing (although only top half is fitted at the mo'), it's a two-stroke and, I think, it needs the carb sorting to get to run properly.

If you're interested, Feebz, let me know and I'll ask, yeah? The bike's in Surrey.
