i reckon serves him right.
think about it, he obviously was going a lot faster than he was clocked and it said he spotted the camera so slammed his brakes on and thats what happened.
i say lucky he didnt have more numptys out with him or it could have been worse.

Proof positive speed cameras don't prevent accidents... No evidence has existed that to prevent, but plenty of evidence to prove they do cause them!!

surely, they cant fine him for it. after all, we all know that the law is a very precisely worded profession. many cases have been thrown out of courts here in the uk due to a miss spelled name, or a single digit in a date or time being incorrect, there are hundreds of cases in the uk that have escaped prosecution due to some minor procedural or gramatical error. so, when he gets the letter asking who was riding the bike when it tripped the camera, he would be telling the truth if he were to say 'nobody' and if nobody was riding it, then surely nobody could be fined???????

That'd be nice ............but

Don't they say who was riding at the time of the offence.
In which case a court may decide the offence was commited before the poor sod fell off.

And I think they can bill 'im for damage to the road surface.

you might argue that its a speed camera. it takes 2 pictures and the distance travelled between the two snaps is calculated and the speed worked out. if the pic is to be used as evidence of an offence, then the offence has to be what is in the picture. to do otherwise would be like saying, 'this is a pic of a biker, we know he was speeding before we took the pic' on a purely technical point, i bet that the person who framed the legislation never took into account a scenario where the bike would be without its rider in the shot. sure its speeding, but he isnt on it.
